They did superior work for me.

I needed help with a stuck barrel nut with an impossibly short timeline, and they found the time to fit me in. Absolutely would recommend!

Dropped off a project at WAR on 2 JUL, which included: fitting action to stock, barrel re-profiling, muzzle brake installation, and barrel tenon verification. Was quoted "a few weeks" at the time of drop-off, told WAR that was fine with me, and I'd call him in 3 weeks to confirm completion and schedule a pick-up. I ended up mailing him an additional bolt the next day to ensure he double checked the head-space of the .223 barrel on the action. I emailed the owner on 3 JUL to confirm the scope of work, and also to ensure he had the USPS tracking number for the additional pieces. NO REPLY/CONFIRMATION. July 24 (3 weeks later) - I emailed the owner on to check progress. NO REPLY. July 31 (4 weeks later) - I emailed the owner to check progress, NO REPLY. August 8 (5 weeks later) - I called the shop and spoke to the owner, was told the project would be done "sometime late next week". August 14th (6 weeks later) - I called the shop and spoke to the owner, was told the same thing on prior conversation. I let him know, no hard feelings, but I'll stop by the shop the next week and pick up the project regardless if it was done. August 28th (8 weeks later) - I stopped by the shop today and picked up the project, completely untouched/unfinished. While all of the above is unfortunate, I found the lack of customer focus and lack of a true apology for completely missing the mark on this engagement the more frustrating part. I try to support local shops and businesses where I can but this was a 100% miss.

One of the beat long range rifle builders in the area. Their quality and attention to detail on my project was amazing. The machine work and coatings were top notch. By far more accurate than I will ever be.

Scope mounting/sighting-in, ceracoating, muzzle threading, bedding ~$900. Bedding, cerakote - excellent. However, repeated delays, scope obviously tilted, not sighted in and mounted incorrectly for Signature mounts 10MOA cant, muzzle threading had to be redone according to provided specs, over-cerakote caused magazine to cause misfires, set-trigger over-adjusted requiring complete rebuild ($150). Overheard at range giving both positive and negative comments about WAR. When returned to WAR for other work was cursed immediately by owner for "bad-mouthing" WAR, threatened with police. Would have liked opportunity to explain my comments but he walked away like a coward. Businesses are judged also by how they handle difficult customers, not solely by those that extol their virtues.

By far, the most accurate rifles I’ve owned, have been built by WAR Rifles. I’ve had at least 5 rifles built, and many more worked on there. Their gunsmithing work and cerakoting is absolutely top notch. I can’t say enough good things.

They did a good job on a Kalashnikov muzzle device, removing existing "permanent" brake with a similarly attached flash-hider. Weld was solid and finish smooth.

By far the worst gunsmith I ever dealt with. I would not let him work on another one of my gunsmith. Poor quality and communication. Save your money before you go there. It will cost you more in the end.

Was referred to War Rifles from Virginia Arms for a pin and weld. I have nothing but good things to say about the guys at War Rifles. Very friendly and turn around time was fantastic. Their shop is down the long complex of 8393 from Euclid Avenue. A little hard to find, but would definitely recommend their gunsmithing services to those in the NoVa area.
