October 2022 UPDATE: I don't know who runs this store, but I'm here now at 0815 waiting for them to unlock the doors. This is probably the 10th time in 2 months I've came here and they were NOT open when they are supposed to be! Opening time is 8am, 3 people have already left the parking lot because they're STILL NOT OPEN... I will be calling corporate this afternoon to let someone know.

I went to Dollar General in Wakefield VA at 2:00 p.m. Yesterday and they were closed due to a lack of staffing. I was very disappointed because I was shopping for household decorations and I love their home living section. I had to go to Family Dollar and they had nothing I was looking for. I went home empty handed.

They are nice folks and do their best with limited help. Store is always clean and very organzied if you go to any other locations

I was pleasantly surprised when I went in the Dollar General in Waverly and Disputants on Friday. Both stores were clean and organized. Could be because of new resets but I noticed a few different employees. They seemed to care for how their store looked. BIG, HUGE difference in attitude. Hope they can continue to keep it up to prove it didn't tidy up only for reset. Like the quick self checkout in Disputanta too! It's nice to see they're taking pride in their work and have fresh attitudes. Thanks so much now if the community can help with keeping it organized! Put item back where it belongs if you decide not to buy it ..don't be lazy.....do unto others as you'd want them to do for you.

The staff here is always upbeat and happy. They've gotten some new employees and are getting the store back in sync. I live to shop here. Always come out with a smile.

Lots of empty space on the shelves & out of a lot of things. They could increase their business by keeping it stocked since Waverly doesn't have a grocery store.

The parking lot is a bad dream. There's only one narrow entrance/exit. And who on earth decided to put a pole smack in the middle of it? It's a wonder that it hasn't fallen over with all the dinks in it. Once inside, the food selection is pretty good and neat. Head to the clothing area and it looks like a bomb went off. But the staff is very helpful and friendly. Take a trip and rate it for yourself.

This has to be the worst Dollar General that I've ever visited! The cashier was god awful. My step daughter and I were waiting in line to purchase our items, & she was speaking with the customer in from of me that she was checking out & was cursing & talking about a girl they didn't like. Seriously...that's not what my step daughter needs to be hearing. Conversations like that need to be done after working hours. Finally she starts ringing me up. She didn't greet me whatsoever. I had to ask her how she was doing. After she's done, she gives me my receipt. I say "Thank you", & she doesn't say a word. The last time I checked, when you have a job as a cashier, you're main focus point is Customer Service. The manager of this store really needs to hire people who show their customers respect. Needless to say, I won't be going back to that store ever again .
