We love this place. Some of the best food in ocean shores, for sure. My family and I went in on a Friday morning and it was packed and busy but the waitress was super nice and attentive. I ordered the French toast breakfast and in no time our food was out and it was delicious!! The homemade bread is killer. And the waitress was fantastic and funny, had us laughing when she would come check on us. Highly recommend!

I will start with the good. The food here was good, especially the bread…really great. Because the food was good I’ll give it two stars. The rest of the experience was terrible. The staff was not friendly and while they are short staffed their approach was to be rude and short instead of apologetic and explaining that they are short. We never got water and when we asked we got attitude and then threw waters for 5 people. Several mistakes were made and food came out at different times. If they had been cool and explained that they are understaffed it would have been fine…but the people were rude. I will not return here despite the fact that the food was good.

07/16/22 Walked up to find a "Closed" sign on door, but since tables were packed I walked in. Was told they were very backed-up, but if we wanted to wait, they'd take care of us. We chose to wait, and were glad we did. Unlike the other, more highly rated, breakfast restaurants there was a place to sit while we waited. We were actually seated and our order taken very shortly, and were given good fresh coffee while we waited to get our food. Wife had Pancake Combo w/Bacon & Toast: eggs cooked to order, pancakes very good, bacon good. Toast & berry jam were very good. I had French Toast Combo w/Bacon: same result as wife's, but the French Toast was "killer" with *really* good in-house made bread. My egg was a bit greasy [with butter?], but still very good. Server and owner (?) were very pleasant, and service was excellent for how busy they were when we arrived. The ambiance is not as nice as others, but the food and service may well be better. Will definitely return when in Ocean Shores.

Sadly my excellent looking French toast made with I believe to be home made bread was under cooked. The eggs were a bit oily. My very good piece of ham, which was forgotten on my plate arrived soon after we noted the mistake.

We drove up and saw there were plenty of open tables during open hours. We parked and got our kids out. As we walked up to the restaurant and older lady with brown hair grabs the door out of my hand, "We are closed for at least 45 minutes." I looked at her stunned, " there are people in there eating and the open sign is on." She rolled her eyes and proceeded to put a sign on the door "Closed." "Yes, but we are full now. We can't seat you." Wow. Just wow. Who treats customers like that? The kids were confused. It was a shocking experience. I don't want to pull the race card so I won't but it was a very upsetting experience. Never again. Doesn't matter what food you serve if you treat customers as disposable. Eat somewhere else where they respect humans. They were not full. Not even close. And when you are full, don't you just have customers wait? Not lock them out of the restaurant? Horrible.

Very overall pleased with this cafe. Options were very inclusive and my partner and I were able to get portions of our meals(which were French toast combo and pancake combo) substituted to be vegetarian at no cost. The staff was super friendly and kind. Perfect place for tourists or locals. Atmosphere and music were also fantastic, love to hear classics in there!

The food is excellent simple fare. No muss, just delicious. True fluffy pancakes and true French toast with the best bread. No messing around. So good.

Older lady up front was rude at first. She was nicer towards the end had some good jokes. Burgers were okay. Average. Wait time was so bad one other family in there. About 30-45 mins.

I haven’t completed a meal in a week. The berry Turkey sandwich was excellent. Just what I needed! Vern’s omelet was also great.
