A lovely place with great omelets! We’ve been visiting the same block quite several times. However, we’ve never noticed this little gem behind the green door. Worth a try!

This place is awesome. The first thing you notice is how clean it is. Even all the little Knick knacks were clean, meaning someone takes the time to dust them. Great laid back atmosphere with humor. For instance, one sign says, “beware—old men cooking!” Then our food came and it got even better! Their omelette are four eggs, and I got the meat lovers. Came with hash browns and toast. The meal was delicious, as was the coffee. But what really made it was the person who helped us. I may be wrong, but I also got the feeling she and her husband might own it, but she was really nice and super efficient.

Probably the best place for breakfast in this area of Seattle/Shoreline. Service was quick and friendly, food was excellent and plentiful. Basically an old fashioned diner experience and that in these days of chain restaurants is not a bad thing at all.

Literally the WORST breakfast I have ever had. My husband went to get takeout here instead of our usual place on a whim befause it was closer and the reviews were good. Huge mistake. The sausage, toast and pancakes were burnt. The chicken fried steak was chewy with a weird oversalted aftertaste. The French toast was dry, flavorless and ice cold (we live 5 minutes away). A few bites in and I quickly decided to skip this meal for one of those chalky protien shakes instead. Not wasting my calories on this disgusting mess.

Lovely service and good intentions. The spinach and mushroom omelette is the gem worth trying. The potato omelette is an interesting concept and could work if the potatoes weren’t instant mashed. The hash browns and toast were all slightly charred.

Prime rib on Fridays. Was about $30. This is a mean prime rib. So juicy and pretty much as soft as meat can get without it being marble wagyu. Each bite was a burst of flavor and so tender and juicy. It was madness. Just so, so good. It was a lot of food though, we both could only eat half. We took them home and made skillets out of them the next day. We'll certainly be back on Friday. If I have to be honest though, the veggies were a little mushy, and doused in butter. Delicious, hey, butter is good, but I have to wonder if maybe the veggies were forgotten because I didn't have to chew them at all haha. Maybe that's a feature, not a bug. Still, really freaking good, big fan of Shay's!

I been here twice on a Friday night to have the outstanding Prime Rib😋 This time I got the Clam chowder instead of the salad that came with my dinner! They have the best Clam Chowder! The waitresses are always very friendly! This restaurant is definitely on my list to go eat out at! I come all the way from Lacey just to dine here!

Wonderful. Perfect. This was exactly what we wanted. They have perfected the greasy spoon breakfast and I will absolutely be back for more. The waitress, Linda, was perfectly feisty and fun! There was counter service too. The eggs were exactly as we asked them to be and the hashbrowns were divine. Can’t wait for my next Bloody Mary! There’s also a really cute free book exchange inside and the book selection is on point!
