This is a great place for all kinds of hardware and gardening item. They have a great selection of nuts, bolts, and fasteners. Plus they have great help there. The only downside is they seem a bit expensive.

This is a great place! I really appreciated the helpfulness and personable of the staff. We live in Fairbanks, AK and customer service is almost nonexistent. The staff at McDaniels far exceeded my expectations of customer service and made sure I was able to get exactly what I needed. Even when they did not carry the item I was looking for, they were quick to help me find other options nearby. Definitely recommend!

There's something special about a hardware store and a hometown locally owned hardware store is extra special. I have been going there for 35 years and I am always amazed at how much stuff they can get into the store. The other great thing is the service you get when you shop there. I have gone in to find something when all I knew about it was a description of what I needed it for and the owner or an employee will say, 'Oh, yes those are right over here.' I will take McDaniels over the big box stores every time.

On my last trip I took in a baby Stihl chainsaw in for a service, ended up buying a 20 inch monster Stihl. I love this place! They remind me of an old time trading post. They have everything from fishing lures to power tools to grass seed. I think they do a wonderful job with hiring. Each person I have dealt with in different departments has been super helpful, knowledgeable.

A year ago in paint department young girl was short and rude. Hit dark brown on computer on purpose as I was watching instead of the tan I seen on it. Color match came out so dark brown it was almost black instead of tan. Today my son and I came in to find 1 screw for his truck and took 15 minutes to find out finally they didn't have it as they told us in the phone they did. Wasted gas wasted time wasted energy every time I come here I leave disappointed. This is my hometown wish this store was like it used to be years ago.
