Spay Today in Charles Town (3731 Berryville Pike, WV 25414)
About:
Spay Today is a program of The National Humane Education Society (NHES) and serves as a tangible example of NHES’ commitment to humanely reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs. Spaying and neutering is, and must continue to be, a major part of the humane solution to ending to the commonplace practice of euthanizing (killing) healthy cats and dogs in our country as a means of population control. To achieve this goal, Spay Today’s mission is to provide reduced-cost spay/neuter services to people who understand the need to spay/neuter their companion animals but who cannot afford the normative fees charged for these procedures.

Significant savings with initial vaccines, spaying and chipping. Blue Ridge Veterinary in Purcellville participates in this.

Beware of charges that they do not tell you about, long waits to have your pet spade or neutered, and the vet adding unnecessary charges on top of it when you get there. Don't be surprised when you pay over a $100 on the phone when you book and the tgen again on the day of the surgery. It's not fair to walk into charges blindly. According to the vet it is Spay Today's responsibility and according to Spay Today it's the vet's responsibility. Who is responsible?? I guess that falls on the owner who has to dig into their pocket, you're not helping us get our pet spayed or neutered cost effectively if you are charging us a fortune in extra fees(presurgical exam, blood work, shots, pain medicine, other meds, etc.). Otherwise I would have gone through my own vet and had a shorter wait time to get them taken care of. I will never use the service again more of a hassle than it was worth and lack of communication is disappointing on both their and the vet's office.

My husband and I just moved here from Ohio and needed a VET asap for our dog. Dr.Briggs wouldn't explain much of anything to us. Gave our dog 2 shots and didn't even tell us what he was giving him. Then gave us 2 pills to give him and didn't tell us what they were either. I had to look up the pill numbers online to figure out what they were. He didn't tell us what was really wrong with our dog either and charged us $125. When we did ask questions he got snippy with us. We will never go here again and don't recommend anyone else does either. I think it's time for Dr Briggs to retire.
