I just moved to Nitro so I was looking up for internet provider as soon as possible and saw optimum store is the closest one but they have 2 star reviews and all not so good comments. I really need wifi for my meeting and classes so I just go for it. Out of my expectation, the lady at the store is super nice, friendly and helpful. I got trouble with the cable so I called their service number, another lady was there spent 1.5 hour try to figure it out for me. It was cable issue so she helped me put on ticket for tech appointment. The tech guy came on time and was patiently wait for me 15 minutes (which made me feel bad cuz I was late). He checked everything and fixed the cable which was cut off or disconnected from the box. And it’s free! I appreciate their help and patience. I think they deserve a good review after all. This is my first experience with Optimum (in Nitro, WV) and I would say I’m happy with their service so far.

Worst internet provider. Called to offer 1 gig for 30 more a month on top of the 90 we already pay just to have the internet constantly stop working in the middle of business meetings on zoom. Kind of funny we turn down the offer and the internet has crashed not one but five times this week. This cannot happen when you work from home. Not to mention when you call with an issue they don't know what you're talking about and send a tech just to hear they can't do anything.

I hope they go bankrupt and they all lose their jobs like I did. Don’t do business with these people, the hotspot data on a trackphone works better than the service that this joke of a business offers. the absolute worst company ever. the internet never works but yet my bill has raised $50 in the last two months. i never leave reviews, but this is absolutely ridiculous. and if you try to get ahold of someone about it, you never get an answer, they just try to keep selling you upgrades instead of fixing the problem.

I called them, and they gave me another promotion that only knocked it down to $90. Now I go on to pay my bill it’s $110. I have a brand new router that I bought. They sent me this Altice Router, and Modem out of the blue in the mail. I tried to tell him look I have an expensive router already. Oh we just want to upgrade to our better service. Well now they are charging me for it. Why are you charging me? Have I not been a loyal enough customer. They are giving new customers all kinds of deals, but sticking it to their long time paying customers. My friends severely disabled mother is paying $289 for just regular cable, and I think their Lowest tier Internet. You should be in prison for what you are doing. This is what you call a monopoly. There is no competition. I can’t just cancel, and go with someone else. This is against the law. You will be prosecuted. I just filed a complaint with the Attorney General. They tell me to call in every 6 months to beg for a new promotion. It’s heartbreaking. My dad canceled his. They sent some guy out to lie to him, and they told him Optimum is taking over Suddenlink.
