Wow! The mechanic there is very knowledgeable and trustworthy. The communication with the diagnostic of my car was very fast and thorough. The prices for the repair was very reasonable. Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Very pricey, but may have to take it back. Got window regulators and my driver side is trying to get stuck already and it's only been a couple months ago, they fixed it. Always something with this car. BMW 2006 X3 SUV

My previous vehicle owner recomended this shop to me. The staff is very friendly. And I got my vehicle back promptly. It's good to have mechanics that one can trust.

These guys are the best there is! Timely, professional, and honest. They always explain any problems in language that is understandable and repair as needed. They have never recommended unneeded repairs and always do a full diagnostics check prior to releasing the car! Great people! Great service! They have been in business for over 30 years and are still the best in the business! Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Steering & suspension repair, Oil change, General repairs & maintenance, Exhaust, A/C installation & repair, Engine repair, Auto engine tuning

By all accounts they do outstanding work but the lady that answers the phone (not Marlena) is very rude and snappish. She talks to you like you're a child and is extremely condesending. I would rather take my vehicle elsewhere than to be treated in that manner.

I’m a police officer from Michigan. While visiting my parents in Alabama, my 2014 Mercedes GL 450 had a coolant leak from the left super charger the day before I was to travel back to Michigan. I did not know what I was going to do. Where am I going to find a mechanic in rural Alabama that knows how to work on a Mercedes Benz with superchargers. My baby only uses Mercedes Benz parts, only dealer serviced since new. My cousin recommended Southern Star Motors. I took his advice and reached out to Danny. Danny usually works by appointment only. Danny told me he would fit me in. Danny got the Mercedes Benz parts and had my vehicle fixed the following morning. Danny showed a great deal of care and compassion for me and my situation. He got me a rental car quickly and even recommended a good place to eat while I was in town. I wish I had a Danny and Southern Star Motors in Michigan. I would definitely recommend Southern Star Motors to any European car owner. I have nothing but gratitude to Danny and his staff. The world would be a better place if the were more Danny’s in the world. Service: General repairs & maintenance

Absolutely horrible customer service. The lady that answers the phone is so rude, she is mentally ill I believe. Owner, if you read my review - she should not allowed by any means to work at the front desk and talk to customers. I would never do business with them while they have such a bad customer care from the beginning! They might be good a fixing the cars but their bad talking crosses everything. And I will tall all my friends that live at that area to avoid dealing with this shop! Super bad service!

Southern Star is by far the best mechanic shop in the region for handling European car repairs. They have fixed our Mercedes, turbo Volkswagen CC and BMW with top-quality care at a very reasonable price. If we lived in Birmingham next to a Mercedes dealership, I would still bring my car to these guys in Anniston for service. Polite and professional, too. There is nobody better. Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Oil change, General repairs & maintenance, Battery, Engine repair, Auto engine tuning

Still providing outstanding service and awesome value after all these years. Great advice when you need it. Accomplished conversationalists with an amazing sense of humour and patience. This is my second car going over 300 K miles and plan to see it through 400,000. Again, great service.

This is honest review of my experience with this place. Let me first off say that I have never even given a review about anything but I feel I must because what I really wanted to do isn't an option. I brought a 2004 audi a8 here with low suspension problem. Let me first say that the front end was very low and I had to be careful driving because the bottom of the car would scrape on certain areas of the roads. I was told that the front 2 struts were gone and the compressor as well. The estimate was over four thousand dollars for 2 struts and the compressor and labor combined. I looked the prices up and they are way over the average price online . I was quoted over 2 thousand dollars for the 2 struts and 1600 dollars for the compressor and like 400 something dollars labor. The other option was to install a conversion kit that would make it regular struts and that estimate was 2300 dollars. I checked the conversion kit online and there is only one company who makes one for this car the price is 1100 that's tax and shipping charges all included. So I guess 1200 for labor , so needless to say I decided to not have any work done. That in itself really wasn't that much of a big deal because everyone has there own pricing system and they are supposed to be a certified shop no big deal. So, I decided to do the work myself and pay them the $108 they charged for the diagnosis. Still no problems because I understand it's a business and that was what I wanted was a diagnosis . The problem comes in when my car was scraping the road all the way home because of whatever was or wasn't put together properly after they did the diagnosis/tests on the car. I will admit the car was already very low and randomly scraping but it was not all the way on the road as I got it back after they ran the test . The guy even said that they just screwed the air lines back into the struts when I picked the car up and I said it's not a problem because I plan on fixing. Little did I know how bad they had left the car and upon driving home which was maybe 1 mile from the shop there was smoke billowing out from all around the car. And when I got the car home I used diagnostics to start the compressor and could literally hear air hissing from the passenger side wheel area. I'm not trying to down this business or say if they are competent mechanics but I feel like my car should have at least been in the same condition as I brought it to them. I was able to drive the car around when it was dropped off and now it is stuck because it's literally sitting against the road on the front end. My mother followed behind me and said she seen something hanging from under the car so I don't know what all may have happened but this is not acceptable in my opinion. Just because a car is already messed up and the customer doesn't want to pay the price quoted doesn't mean just throw it back together however is convenient or quick. I hope you guys try to deny any of this because God knows this is exactly what happened. I never called back after I left with the car because there is no way I would take anything back here.
