I went through the drive-thru today to cash a check. They gave me back the check with a void stamp on it and told me I could not cash it. I asked why and was told I didn’t have enough funds in my account. I didn’t know why what I had in my account currently had to do with wanting to make a deposit. I asked why it mattered and was met with a “ have a good day”. I then realized the void sticker and the check hadn’t even been processed, incompetent much? So I drive around and walk inside. A lady that I believe was named Berana greets me, and I explain my situation. Her attitude quickly turns negative towards me. She then tells me in an annoyed voice that the only way I can cash it is to have it deposited in my account and it would be available tomorrow. The problem is that I need the money in cash today. There should be no reason They can’t do this as it’s not a large amount of money. Berana then decides to start repeating herself over and over like a child. She tells me I can deposit it and have it tomorrow no less than 4 times and would not explain why this was so difficult for this bank to cash a simple check for an account holder. Anyways, after a few more minutes of this I called my fiancé while he was working to transfer money to my account so that the bank would just give me my money. It shouldn’t have to be this hard. If anybody would’ve just explained why all this was happening it would’ve been much easier, but no, I get sarcasm and nonchalant attitudes. I hope this Gardendale branch will start hiring incompetent people. I’m about ready to jump ship to Wells Fargo after eight years.

Horrible customer service. We deposited a large check in our account and we were told it was going to be available immediately. So we drive out of town to go make important purchases only to find out that they made a mistake and deposited it incorrectly and it will not be available until tomorrow. So we drove hours out of town for nothing. We called and they put us on hold for a very long time only to come back and tell us there was nothing they could do, they admitted to their mistake and told us just to wait until tomorrow.. The second it becomes available we are taking that money out and going to a bank that actually knows what they are doing.

Terrible Customer Service! I will not be back to this location. Sat in the drive thru line for 15 minutes finally make it up to the window. I was told I would have to come inside the bank to deposit my EFS check. I have never had a problem at ANY other Regions location. 11/19/21

This bank is completely understaffed. This is twice I have wait 45 minutes for a banking transaction through the drive through... that is insane. I counted 31 cars while I sat and waited. This branch is suffering and so are the staff! I feel for the workers as they are always so friendly and do not deserve to be working understaffed. Regions, do better and higher more employees! My husband and I have been banking her for 10 + years and we are changing banks now because of this issue. I can no longer handle the wait time because of the other branch closing in Gardendale.

Regions Bank in Gardendale is completely understaffed. The last few times I’ve gone through the drive through, the lines have been 20 cars deep and the walk in is at least 10 deep. They close the other branch, laid off staff but never replaced them at the now overwhelmed branch. The poor tellers are constantly apologizing to customers for the wait time. Stop cutting costs.

This branch serves a huge geographical area and is always lined out into the road. Not uncommon to spend 30 mins in the drive thru. There really needs to be another branch in the area or more staff to accommodate the high customer volume. This has been a problem here for a long time.

30 minutes minimum wait in drive through. Many banks in this area, giving my business them. Also I visited inside bank on January 6, 2021 waited more than hour to open an account. Representative told me they will call me 15 minutes to meet an associates and still took an hour. I gave up left bank and open an account in people’s bank of Alabama in less than 15 minutes.

Gardendale Regions: Ridiculously long wait times in drive-thru. Have never seen more than 2 tellers working the drive-thru. Wait times inside also bad - has only been 1 or 2 tellers helping inside when I have been there; there is a greeter, which I don't need - put the greeter behind a teller station to actually help! And don't tell me you will "pass this along" like you tell others because nothing changes. Sorry I left BNVA to come to this Regions. Think I will switch to BB&T.

I only gave one star because there is nothing lower. Not sure who the lady was running the drive thru but it was only 9:30 am and apparently she was already in a bad mood. My office manager had asked me to drop off the credit card payments for her since this option is no longer available to do online any longer. I pulled into the drive thru no one in front of me, know one behind and hand her the payments. She quickly snaps at me that there is a 3 transaction maximum in the drive thru. I tell her I didn't know and with attitude she says "It's right there on the sign". Next she complains because the office had not torn off the check stubs as she puts all but 3 of the payments back in the drawer for me to get. I asked her what she was doing and she said we have a 3 transaction limit. I look in my mirror and still I'm the only person in the drive thru. I told her to just give me those 3 back and I would go to another branch which I did. The Regions in downtown Birmingham on 3rd Ave S knows how to treat customers. I will never go back to the Odum Road location and will be switching all my company visa's to another bank.
