It was our first visit. Josie is my 18 year old pup. Everyone was kind and gentle with my pup. This place is clean and not expensive at all. They get very booked up, so be patient, it worth it. Maggie is next! ♡

Well my trip to the vet this time ended up with having to deal with end of life for my beloved pet. I thank God they were there to assist in the final moments. I know no one really wants to discuss such issues let alone think about them, but they were understanding and did excellent in what was to ease the suffering not only of my pet but myself too. Ty to all at Kern Veterinary. Tho I couldn't speak and say it at the time I am saying it now.

Unfortunately there was a month wait to get an appointment for my dog, which thankfully it was not a super urgent matter and wouldn't affect anything by the wait. I myself am forgetful, and had to call back closer to the date to be reminded the correct day and time. Then again on the day of, called to inform them she would be brought in by my boyfriend instead. He arrived early and they were already aware and seeing her. Always very kind service. Her 2nd appointment I brought her in and last minute while standing in the lobby requested an additional service of microchipping. They gladly performed it, and I first hand experienced how great they were with her. She got lots of Lovings, and treats!! They were even so kind and understanding of her "stalker" tendencies when she tried following the techs around anytime they walked by. She's such a nosey pooch. Thank you Kern Veterinary Hospital!

Called because my dog got something stuck in his eye three days ago, the lady on the phone was very rude and interrupted me while I was explaining the issue to tell me they won’t see him. What kind of a pet “hospital” only takes appointments and doesn’t have availability until June? outrageous

Not happy with this place. Was told I would get a call the next day about xRays didnt happen had to wait till Monday, due to a weekend. Still no call, my dog wasnt any better. I called them talked to doc, said my dog had damaged his vertebrae. Never received a itemized bill, was told it would be emailed. Never received a email from this vet. After spending $52 for visit. And $649 + $38 for meds $739. I only went to this vet because my vet couldnt get him in for 2 weeks. I will be filing a complaint to the veterinarian medical board. I dont even pay that much at his regular vet.

I have a home in Los Angeles and a home in Weldon. My dog's vet is in Los Angeles. This past week I was in Weldon. On Wednesday morning I had to make the difficult decision to have my dog put to sleep. I called Kern Veterinary Hospital and asked if they had an appointment slot available to put my dog to sleep. The woman said they did have an available appointment slot, but when she found out I wasn't an existing customer, she told me they weren't taking any new customers. The procedure would have used up the appointment slot they had available, but obviously wasn't going to add anything to their workload going forward. They refused to help end a dog's suffering because they had not previously gotten any money out of the dog's owner. They have no provisions for assisting with an emergency in the community at large, an indication of their utter lack of commitment to the community. Their bland lack of compassion is chilling and telling. I ended up driving my dog to Bakersfield, where the kind folks at Banfield Pet Hospital eased her on her way and took care of arrangements for cremation.
