My son went to this school to learn music. Staffers are nice and helpful. Environment is ok, convenient and easy access to transportation except no parking for students here.

Another great place and in a prime location of Hollywood. We got to see the House Band run through their set for later in the afternoon at the Whiskey at the Musicians Institute. This is like heaven for a musician. Musicians Institute has everything you could want whether it be singing/songwriting or learning to DJ you can learn it here. We learned on the tour they offer several options from certificates to full blown degrees. The room they got to perform in had a great set-up. The sound was great and there was plenty of seating and a decent size stage. We met a few of the Staff and Instructors and everyone was great. They took the time to show the kids around and explain what the Institute has to offer. The parents also got a tour of the facilities and they are quite impressive. One thing we noticed (which may seem odd) was the cork boards around the campus. They had fliers and posters for upcoming events and artists looking for other artists. We thought this was amazing because whether you are looking for a drummer or singer or whatever there were plenty of places to sort of advertise your needs to grab the attention of possible future band mates. It was nice because it brings people together. We have known a few people who have gone to Musicians Institute and really loved it. It is a great place to learn and grow as a musician and very welcoming.

I attended GIT from March '88 - March '89, and it was the greatest single year of my life! It was challenging, but very rewarding. I would give anything to go back in time and do it again!

I attended this school some time back and as a foreign student. I felt that no support was given. No support for cultural differences, accommodation, integration, or anything someone coming from a different country might need. Considering the cost of studying here, I think such assistance for foreign students should have been a matter of course. The high cost is prohibitive and in my opinion you are no better positioned to getting work after studying here. The teachers just didn't seem to care about developing one's own style and it was all very conveyor belt style teaching. It had an atmosphere of students in, take money, and let's hope you get on ok. If you fell off that conveyor belt of teaching, God help you. Admittedly GIT has some great names to their credit but I think these musicians would have been great anyway. The practice areas were poor and the atmosphere was all competitive instead of creative. I wish I could say otherwise as it had been a dream to study here. I hope it has changed for the better since I was there. I know other ex students have had good experiences but I'd strongly advise against saddling yourself with the high debt of studying at this school and would suggest you'll get as good if not better by working one to one with good teachers and YouTube tuition. Hollywood Boulevard is a place that looks good in the movies but trust me when i say it is littered with souvenir shops and unfortunate homeless characters. I would respectfully suggest find an accredited music school or take a part time course at this school before going into the longer courses, just to see if it suits you. You need to be sure considering the costs involved.

The BEST musician school. From making beats to crafting instruments, this school is the industry standard. Although a juggernaut, they make all fell welcomed and empower each to succeed. But one must put n that WeRk🎶

Exceptionally personable and wise, the staff all guided us, in the path of learning, while we were able to create music, with our training, and trainers, beside us the entire journey. The fresh equipment was a easy comparison, to what we will use in the field. I truly wish I Had taken advantage of counseling and employment services, because what little I did use them, it was extremely helpful and accessible.

They need to honestly help you structure your classes so that you don't take on more than you can handle per semester, instead of rushing you through like a herd of cattle.

Great school for people interested in music or music related professions. The drum program teaches were sometimes hard to reach for tutoring and questions, but their knowledge is unlimited. Those guys know what they're doing! As far as the Music Business program goes, teachers are awesome and very knowledgeable. The only problem is parking, and the very expensive tuition!

I will be graduating on Saturday from the Music Business program. Hands down, the best decision I have ever made. The teachers are industry professionals teaching based on experience and knowledge, not just reading from a book. So much I thought I knew but didn't and where else can I learn Music Law and Publishing, etc. My only complaint is it went by so fast. I am seriously going to miss it. They do however offer passes for alumni for career counseling and equipment use which is awesome. The connections, confidence, knowledge, mentorships, internship and friends I gained throughout my year at MI is priceless. I highly recommend the school to anyone and everyone.
