I really like grocery shopping at Presidente Supermarket...mostly for meats, seafood, spices, and vegetables...but the thing is I don't see much locations. So when I spotted one after getting some pizza, I just had to check it out. Located in the Town Shoppes of Margate, this supermarket was large and clean with organized aisles. There's a seafood department, a deli department, an area where you can get hot coffee and hot cooked food; as well as a variety of American, Latin, amd Caribbean grocery items, frozen items, fresh produce, fresh and packaged meats/seafood, and much more. Items are at decent prices - especially the meats.

I just happen to stroll into this Super Mercado? Big mistake. I purchased a cafe con leche, a pastry of guava and two meat empanadas. ($9.20) Let me tell you that the empanadas from the outside were healthy looking. But, when I got home and tossed them in the toaster oven to enjoy them like I like them, I wasn’t surprised to discover that although they contained a huge amount of meat, it wasn’t the type of empanadas that I usually consume a few times a year. This ground meat, if that’s what it was, was basically high quality dog food. It had no seasoning whatsoever, no onion, potatoes, olives, Sazon, adobo, Sofrito Hello!!!! GOYA! They do sell those ingredients there! Right? Some places take the liberty of adding egg or raisins, (Cuban style) no thanks, I can do without those items, too bad they don’t have a University on how to make the perfect empanadas, because this place is feeding you a surprise. Ask yourself, when was the last time you ate one of those hot dogs with pork, chicken and rib meat? For me, it was 59 years ago, when we were poor. Food for thought.

Many items can be acquired here that you can't find in other supermarkets. Almost anything you need from the Caribbean and central and south America. All this with many of the brands you normally find elsewhere. The prices are also very competitive.

I came in the store today 6:50 PM. I left the store at 7:00 PM. I planned on moseying around the store and make a bunch of impulse buys. I couldn't accomplish my task unfortunately because the music inside the store was obnoxiously loud and there was static mixed into the noise and the choice of music was more appropriate for a disco nightclub scene. I probably won't go back.

It's ok. Since it's a meat market it always smells like fish 🐟 ewww . But that's normal. Not always very clean. They have a small already made food and the food is very good and not too expensive ( the only reason I go there) Meat prices are just okay( still a bit expensive compared to other placed) Customer service horrible that's all I have to say about that...beside the prepared food she is very nice. Meat in picture looks nasty.

I bought snapper fish from presidente months ago and it was not fresh. Yesterday I was so tired to go someplace else and seeing that I live 5 mins away I went to this location again. I purchased 4 snappers for $21 and once again. They were not fresh. I took them home, washed them with limes TWICE and vinegar. I work very hard for my money guys, it's not right to see stuff like that. You are right near me but gonna lose my business for these experiences. I know I'm a drop in the bucket for you but it's not right.

Honestly, I shop here for all Caribbean/island grocery items. Things you may not find anywhere else. They have a vast selection of ethnic food items.

So I went to get pasta at Presidente. I got the brand Pastalia and there was bugs inside the pasta bag. Mind you I did not open the package yet but I saw not just one but multiple bugs crawling inside the dry pasta.
