Who are they helping. I just called to get some information. The woman that answered smacked her lips when I said I needed information. So I asked her who I was speaking with. She hung up on me. Now I have been calling back to get help and she will not answer. This is how they use there donations. This is not the first time I saw treated back at this location. I did need services I just wanted to ask a question.i will be doing more research on this location.somthing is not right.

I stayed at the Salvation Army with my two children, one who had a disability. They made no accommodations for us, infact when my child was triggered by noise made in the dining room area, which would cause him to run. We where written up and told if this continued to happen we would have to leave. Also my children we constantly verably abused and harassment by my roommate, which was documented, she received a warning but I was told if I couldn't work it out with her, my family and I would have to leave. Basically I was told to put up or shut up. I request a room transfer and was told they did not do that. I'm telling you my story or some of it, because as I have witnessed they organization has alot of influence in the community and get alot of promotion. And ask for alot of donations. I need you to hear me on this one. Most of your donations are going to the staff and is being given to them by the shelter coordinator, they are not going to the homeless, infact they are charging the homeless to stay in thier facility 10 dollars a day of 30%of what they earn. Which ever is less. This is per family per individual. This place in Orlando is more about profit then anything else hiding under the blanket of Jesus Christ. If you have money or clothes please give it to the Poeple who need it or an organization that will actually help the people they claim to in the name of God. Instead of explot the already broken❤️.

I use to stay on the cold overnights. They expect you to clean up and help with the kitchen chores like loading and unloading the dishwasher, and dry the food trays, and other dishes that are washed. It is a warm safe place to stay on cold overnights.

I called for Financial assistance and the ladt was veryy rude. I asked to speak to a manager because she didn't even give me a chance to explain why i needed the help. i asked for her name and she said it was lauralee and when i called back i was told noone works their with that name.. Never again will i call or recommend this place. If you are working to help the community be generous and genuine because God dont like ugly i could smell the attitude straight thru the phone. This lady not know my situation has left a mark to remember Salvation Army worker are Rude maybe not everyone there but she sure was a rude personal.

If you don't "fit" into their "program" you have to settle for one night at a time. You have to be there at 4pm for intake. You can have their dinner but you can't leave the building once you're checked in. In the morning you can have their breakfast. All the one nighters have to be out of the building by 7am with all of their belongings. Also all one nighters are required to help in the kitchen to clean up the dishes after each meal. Lights are out at 10pm. Lights are on at 6am.

They have the BEST "STUFF" lol, & deals there. I was looking for bar- stools & they had 2 nice brand new, gorgeous barstools w/the back on them & they wanted $15 a piece & I got them both for $20.

This review is fo rthe women's shelter next door. This place is $310 a month. It's filled with rude staff, with only the 4:30 PM greeter being the nice one. Please be kind to her in return. Her heart is huge. The facility is disgusting. My bed was 3 feet below the dust filled vent. My sheets has piss stains. Pillowcase had blood stains. And my blanked had food matted into it. And when I brought this top staff's attention, I got blamed for the mess. I only had The bed coverings for 2 mins before trying to return them, which I was denied. The bathroom/showers are NEVER cleaned. However, on the plus side, the food was decent. But in Orlando, you'll never starve. As food is freely given almost everywhere. Though, finding a decent emergency shelter is hard to come by.

Horrible. I appreciate that they come all the way out to pick up items that would cost us a lot of trips since we didn't have a U-Haul, but when they got to our house they looked at the back of a couch that we wanted to donate (out of the two we were going to give them) and the chair and said no since there were "small white tears on the BACK of the couch". They then proceeded to go to our office to help my husband pull out the other couch we wanted to donate and they scratched the walls and door, pulled the couch half-way through the doorway and then left it there. Grabbed the boxed items that we wanted to donate, loaded it on the truck and stuck their head in to say "Sorry!" and drove off. Left my husband with a couch stuck in the doorway to the office and with us having the other couch and recliner still in our house. We have a new couch set coming in on Wednesday. Thanks! Sorry it's a used couch, but it's better than nothing for some people! Never going to use these people for anything EVER again.

Wow, I read the hateful reviews and wonder about their perspectives. The Salvation Army was wonderful to me and helped me through a very difficult time. Since they helped me over 7 years ago, I only give to them. I asked them about their stance on gays and I get a very different picture than the other people who have posted. I can't speak about those situations, but can tell you how wonderful they were to me and my family.

First, I am not "James Spencer". I am his widow. I have been waiting all day for a scheduled pick up. They could not give me a time ~ and I understand that. It's now almost 6pm. I will probably never call them for pick up of donations again. I have a LOT of gently used items ~ and some almost new ~ that I needed to donate. If I knew anyone with a truck I would have taken them to Goodwill. PS They should have my number ~ they asked for it when I filled out the form. Very disappointed. :(
