I highly recommend J&R Marine. Yes, they allow you to work on your boat but they also have skilled and experienced professional tradesmen that can do just about anything. Further, the owners have many years in the business of building and fixing boats. They don't mind providing advice which is especially useful for some one new to boating. Whenever I need storage again, I'll sail the miles to return here.

This is a very clean facility that offers a storage yard and do it your self work area so that you might work on your boat while it's there. There are showers and a small kitchen here as well as a washer and dryer. This place is immaculate. Pricing is extremely competitive and I would not go anywhere else in this entire state if I were you.

Great DIY friendly yard. Deep draft boats need to be careful approaching the lock. I have a 5 foot draft and I bumped at a 0.4 foot high tide. Wifi is very slow, don't expect to stream video, but good for checking email.

These guys are great !! This is my first season there. So I have never been to the West coast of Florida. It was straight forward to navigate to the lift. Once there they hauled the boat quick and with professional perfection. So I show up in a boat, my truck is back in Marathon, we had no wheels. We ran out of ice and beer the day before. It was hot. We were thirsty. Well we got two different offers to take us to get some ice beer and food. Once the boat was at the J&R yard we joined it and now the work begins. I will tell you that I was a bit nervous about being able to stay on the boat while we worked on it. After just a few short minutes all my worries went away. We were meet very quickly by a very accommodating staff. We got the grand tour, all questions were answered, paperwork completed, it couldn't have been easier. Strolling around we saw quite a few boats getting worked over, with several of them undertaking large projects. Everyone around were very friendly and helpful. We talked to many people who have been hauling thier boats there for a multitude of years.... Not one complaint was heard. I'm looking forward to making this my seasonal secure home for my boat while I venture North for the summer. Thank you J&R.

What makes this a great place to haul out, get work done and/ or store your boat are the people. The management and staff are super friendly and helpful. You can DYI or the will find help for bottom painting, brightwork, engine, etc. Buy the materials yourself or they will price match and deliver. Max boat size is 50 ft. You can stay aboard. Hot showers, laundry, internet, grill, kitchen and day room. Only negative is that the the yard is on well water with a high mineral content.... Means it has an smell and is non potable. Okay for showers and dishes but not to drink. Their other yard is on city water. You can get it yourself or they can find someone to bring you water. Stored our boat for 4 months and spent a month aboard doing maintenance and a bottom. This will be the boatyard I come to in the future when I need to haul out.

Our boat was damaged in Hurricane Mathew and was taken to J&R for repair. The hull and rudder were badly damaged as well as other areas. They did an excellent job on the hull and we are now back sailing. The facilities at both J&R and Charlotte Harbor boat storage are very well maintained and everything is clean. They are very careful and professional with the handling and blocking the boats
