Not too helpful when you want something fixed

When we purchased our JD tractor many years ago, we tried to buy from the Aledo location. They were unable/unwilling to work with us and we purchased from a different dealer. Fast-forward a few years and when our tractor began having issues with the 4WD we brought it in to Aledo describing the issue. We were assured they would find the problem. They did not. We were charged for the "diagnostic" fee. When I complained, they told me they would "make it right" if the problem happened again. They told my husband they would come immediately to our location to fix the problem if it happened again. Well....it happened again. We called and they told us to bring it in - they would get to it in a couple of weeks. So we took it to Galesburg where they diagnosed it correctly and fixed the problem in days. We have tried to give our business to the local dealer- they just didn't want it. *The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because of the parts counter- the gentlemen there have always been courteous and helpful.

Dennis repaired my mower. Mower wouldn't start once it was warm and I shut it off. When I dropped it off he made me feel that he really cared about the problem I was having. He asked question that would better define the cause. He was able to give me good idea what was the probable cause. Also during repair, he identified some worn components and called to inform me to let me chose to replace or go until fail. I get the same friendly treatment every time I need his expertise. Bought my riding mower here a few years ago and have been using them for yearly maintenance. They always pick my mower up and drop it back off once ready. Exactly the kind of service I was looking.

Hands down some of the worst customer service experiences I have ever received. The guy behind the counter was openly laughing in my face as I was asking a question because I didn’t know EXACTLY what I was talking about. He talked to me like I was stupid and ignorant. I will be driving to Silvis for all of my John Deere needs from now on. They are so much nicer and more pleasant to work with. If you aren’t buying a combine or large tractor then Aledo doesn’t want your business because they can’t make enough commission off of that. Update: They have since implicated a training exercise based on my experience yesterday from my point of view. Not just this location but all over and are trying to advance their customer service skills. I’m still not going to give them 5 stars though based strictly on an email. The experience I went through did happen and needs to be shared to make sure they do follow through with their word and don’t fall back into their old ways.
