We were way too late to eat, which is a bit of a bummer.. I've been eating this food half my life and it never disappoints. If you're looking for small town home cooking this is the place to go!

Great place to eat and/or have a drink. The Monkey has a diverse, full menu. Good specials on weekends including ribeye, prime rib, fish etc. The staff is super friendly. The food clearly uses fresh ingredients, and is always prepared to order. Drinks are also made as they should be. Small town pub type atmosphere. There is also a fenced-in patio area. The kitchen is small so if they are busy you may wait a little bit for your food, but it will be worth the wait.

Really good food and service. Relaxed atmosphere. Amy is a great server. 5/18/22 Food is good service generally friendly. Try to go when Amy is the server. Much better and accurate service. I don't know how she keeps up and does a great job.

We were visiting Monticello from out of town when we found this little gem. The atmosphere was great, bonus points for having the STL Cardinals game on the TV. The food was awesome, beer was cold & drinks were good. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup. My friend read online that they had awesome cinnamon rolls so we bought a couple of those for the road. Everyone said their meal was delicious, we enjoyed prime rib & ribeyes on a Saturday evening. If you're in the area & looking for great food, this is worth looking up.
