Obviously the cars don't get much attention to maintenance. Also no one picks up the phone during business hours because the new phone line and blah blah excuses. Management hasn't done anything to step it up. It would have been so nicer and easier if I was booked with Enterprise rental instead because they're customer is so much simpler and quick.

If I could vote 0 stars, I would. I rented a car 11/24 with the intent to return 11/26. My car broke down before a blizzard in Kansas City, and Hertz refused to come get us until 36 hours after the storm. The Kansas City airport location was amazing, and told me that Bloomington would compensate me for the motel that I was forced to stay in overnight, because the start and end location are responsible for the financial disputes. They charged me an extra $120 for a $36 rental, because I "didn't return the car on time." They compensated my entire bill, and told me I should be "thankful" that they did that; I literally did not have a car to return. I was forced to stay in a motel, and an associate named Hilton assured me I would be compensated for it, and I believed him. After calling AND emailing the manager, Matthew, I have YET to hear from him. I have filed multiple reports with corporate, and they assured me he would respond to me with reimbursement, but nothing has happened. Hilton PROMISED me Matthew would call me over a week later, and I never received a phone call. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. They are liars and obviously don't care about their customers. If you can't compensate my $80 motel because YOUR car broke down and YOUR company refused to come get me in a timely manner, you should not be in business.

Upon getting the rental, I was not provided with the option that I had requested (as I always do), and Hilton not only ended up charging me extra after I returned the car, he also flat-out lied to his supervisor about me asking for that option upon picking up a car. It is shocking to me that someone with no morals gets to keep a customer service job. I have not set foot in a Hertz since then.

The agent at BMI airport was very nice, but the car was not. Even though I was told that all of the cars are non-smoking, the car I received reeked of cigarette smoke, which I had specifically told the agent that I could not tolerate. If I had not arrived at 10pm and been tired from my trip, I would have gone right back in the airport and asked for another car. I aired it out, but the smell never did go away. Everyone who got in the car commented on it, so it was really bad.
