I went into the store today to try to make a return. It kept coming back declined and the manager was quick to say it was an issue with my card and my bank. She also suggested that I take an in store credit which I did not want. There was no issue with my card and I even confirmed it with my bank on the phone. It was very embarrassing so I decided to try a different Ulta store in Joliet. Same thing was happening except this time the manager told me it was an issue with their system! She decided to try something else and the refund worked. I've never had a bad experience at an Ulta store until today and I found it completely unprofessional of them to blame the issue on me. I shouldn't have to go to another store to get a return made. The Bolingbrook manager was rude as well and I heard her quietly say to the first girl that was helping me "that's embarrassing." I'm not sure what she was referring to, but it was very disrespectful to say in front of me when she was supposed to be helping.

Went for a bang cut with Ariana and she did amazing. I cut my own hair impulsively but really needed my bangs cut cause I did an awful job. Super nice and she did amazing. Coming back Tuesday for a full blown haircut cause I really need it after messing up my hair

Went in to buy 2 items with cash. Cashier asked for my phone number. She said she couldn't ring me up without it. After repeatedly stating that I would not give her my number she finally rang me up. I should not have to give Ulta my personal information to buy a tube of mascara!

Store is nice enough, but the employees are very pushy and disingenuous. I understand their job is to ask if you want help, but it was clear that they were just trying to sell me one specific moisturizer by Murad which I wasn’t interested in and was far out of my price range. I had already picked out the First Aid Beauty moisturizer that I researched ahead of time and knew I wanted and one of the sales associates saw I picked it out and abruptly came up to me to ask how long I had been using it just as an opener to her sales pitch about the Murad moisturizer. It’s hard to describe but she was extremely bold and pushy. Honestly it makes me not want to go shop in store because it’s starting to just feel like a beauty counter situation where they are just trying to push products onto you that are overpriced and not what you came in for. I’m just so sad, is it too much to ask for to be left alone to shop in peace? Like genuine help is fine but I don’t want products pushed on me. Just be grateful for the sale I am giving the store rather than trying to milk me for all I have.

On May 22nd, I raced in for a gift for my niece who is an artist, and has high standards for clean and cruelty free products. Tony was immensely helpful and quickly guided me. She actually came out from behind the counter to show me her recommended choices rather than just point to an aisle as would be most commonly done. She was extraordinary and went above and beyond. I had questions and she answered calmly and did not rush me. She had information about the products and even indicated minority ownership as a plus. I never even thought to ask about that but we want to support Black business owners and entrepreneurs. I was so impressed she offered me additional information. My niece loved the gifts. I would never have known without Tony's help. Thank you.
