It's clean but couldn't find a few items so we had to look elsewhere.

So far the best tacos in the Hobart/Merrillville area.. although I have one more place to try that every raves about, so i may have to update this statement later. El Pueblito Supermarket is the typical small family run grocery store, carrying nice array of Hispanic products from Mexico and Central America. You can't go wrong stopping here for your Mexican essentials. Tucked away in the back behind the boxes and the counter, they are cooking up some great tacos!! We are so glad we stumbled onto this place after moving here earlier this year. Their tacos have been a staple in our rotation the past 3 months. Pro tip:. Order yourself 3 or 4 tacos only if you are extremely hungry because they don't skimp on the portions here. Also grab a container of freshly made guacamole and the salsa de molcajete from the carnicero adjacent to the taco counter. Add them to your tacos and thank me later!! Bonus: They make great carnitas, and good menudo on the weekends. 5 stars.. great products, great food, courteous and friendly staff, great prices and value.

Oh my word, the store clean, nice selections on products, also ready made foods, such as menudo, carnitas, tamales 😋. I highly recommend this place.

One of my go-to markets to purchase Puerto Rican food items, ie, gandules, bollo, platanos, pernil, and other items. Their prices are very reasonable, and their Customer Service is always pleasant.

This little gem sells the best carnitas and barbacoa from here to 26th street. The tamales are pretty good too. I grew up on this food, trust me no one sells better. Their menudo has very little to no proper seasoning.

Been coming here since we moved to the Crown Point/Merrillville area and we come here for their grocery items and after today their tacos. It was our first time dining in their little Taqueria and we were more than pleased. Coming from Chicago it's hard to find a good taco joint around the area but today we've found it. I had a taco de Al Pastor and a taco de Carne Asada. I will vote the Al Pastor over the Asada but both were delightfully delicious. I gave it 4 stars only because the corn tortillas used are the smaller sized ones. Other than that, you won't be disappointed. Tacos were $1.99 and came with cilantro and onion. $2.49 for tacos with lettuce, onion, tomatoes, sour cream and cheese. If you're in the area check them out!

I am so glad El Pueblito reopened at a new location. They make the best tamales in the area. They now offer more items made in house in their restaurant. They sell an array of vegetables from Latin American and the Caribbean, and staple foods in bulk. Service is friendly and helpful.
