They have a change counting machine! Free for members, 2% fee for non-members. Took my change jar up there and got $60, not even a large jar, beat my expectations by a mile.

I’m very new to the Indiana area so I know very little here. The representative at the Merrillville location was very helpful and kind. Not only did she give me information about Tech Credit Union but she went out of her way, out of her job requirements and gave me advice on things to do and places to go that might help me warm up to Indiana becoming my new home. She was very welcoming and pleasant to do business with!

I am currently not a member at Tech Credit Union and decided to call into the Merrillville location and I spoke to I believe his name was Brandon and got some information about opening up an account. I originally wanted to open a checking account. He was explaining to me that to establish membership at the credit union I would have to open a savings account first to become a member and then I could open up a checking account. He was very informative and very straight forward. He was very polite. I asked about auto loans and he gave me rates, terms & general information and explained the entire application process to me. He had a very professional way of explaining things to me. If this is how everyone is at Tech I would ABSOLUTELY open an account and become a member there. Props and kudos to Brandon and his knowledge for the credit union. I will definitely be doing business with tech credit union and would recommendthem to everyone and anyone.

Hands down the worst branch in the nNorthwest Indiana. Terrible customer service, tellers are rude and slow. Dont use the drive thru here you'll be waiting for at least a half hour. Absolutely terrible will no longer be using this branch.

Trash. Terrible customer service, and inconsistent policy’s. Someone fraudulently called and got my debit card cancelled. When they made me come in to get a new card they told I can not have a new card because I just moved and I would have to wait until my address is updated on my license before I can get a new card. I was soooooo upset. I cancelled all my accounts with them. Whatever women “assisted” me was super rude. Think her name was De’ande. Besides that the hours suck and so do the locations. I got a new account at Chase online within minutes.

We financed two cars here. On our second car, we had issues with the dealer in Chicago (Autobarn city Mazda) with getting the title over. It took the dealer 5 months to finally get the correct title with Tech Credit Union as the leinholder on it. During this whole process, Tech Credit Union was very patient with us. Their customer service was exemplary and they worked with me and advised me on next steps to get the situation resolved with the dealer. Even though it was the dealer's fault, Tech Credit Union treated me well. I've been happy to do business with them.

My Wife and I recently opened up some acts at TCU. Process was very easy and flawless. We even got our check cards the same day! Very happy with the overall experience.

This location is the best. Unfortunately the location on ridge road already caused me to close all accounts. Brandon is the best he helped me solve problems and more in 10 minutes than the ridge road location helped me ever!

I was member of this credit union for three years, always dealing with the Crown Point branch, that was until I had the misfortune of visiting this branch. Too cut a long story short, I was told by the loan officer, after waiting an hour and after running my credit, that for an out of state (AL) private sale I would have to bring the car to the branch so they could 'view the collateral'. I politely told them that no seller in the country would agree to driving/transporting the car across the country without payment first. All I got in reply was an 'ok'. So I leave, decide to give it a couple of days and then visit my usual branch (Crown Point), who have given me several loans of out of state private sales in the past without any issue. After explaining the situation, I was told that usual policy was to see a copy of a notarized title and that the Merrillville branch had made an unusual request. Great I think, thinking this loan officer will just re-process the paperwork. The loan officer then needs to go explain the situation to the branch manager who then decides that they cannot go against another branches decision, even though he admitted that he would not have required me to bring the car to them. So in summary, this bank doesn't have consistent policies and/or their employees don't know/follow their own policies. I cancelled my membership of 5 years and got a $40K loan with penfed for 1.5%. So in the end, there was a silver lining but I will never do business with this CU again.
