I paid more than double what a item was worth and was expecting lots of change. The clerk handed me back a couple cents, when I asked her to recount she got very irate. I will not be returning.

I used Duneland to replace my kitchen countertop and backsplash based on recommendations on Nextdoor, after a few contractors decided this was too small of a job for their time. John the owner has made the process so easy, by recommending materials, organizing measurements/ installation between his contractor and the fabricator, and even personally chased down the fabricator to make sure everything was on schedule in the midst of a pandemic with many out sick. John is so knowledgeable and patient with my different inquiries. He cares about his customers deeply - prioritizing long term customer satisfaction over additional short-term sales. I highly recommend Duneland!

I use this shop for as much as I can because it's very convenient. They almost always have the quick things I need and way better than running all the way into town. The owner is always helpful to me. During this recent snowstorm I went to get some shear pins for my snowblower and forgot my wallet. He kindly just gave me the parts I needed. Would recommend.

Very friendly staff and very good prices. Conveniently located! Saved me over an hour instead of having to go all the way across town. They are also a UPS Authorize Service Provider

This place cares about safety and not endangering other people's lives. Funny how some people understand "no shirt, no shoes, no service" but they cant comprehend a simple face mask requirement. I don't mind paying a little more for a friendly, SAFE place to shop.

I am a frequent customer of Duneland Hardware. The location is convenient and the customer service is very helpful. I prefer to support local businesses who also support their community. I'm not handy and John always advises me what to get and if possible how to do it. My wife does painting jobs and gets all her paint there. We enjoy shopping there and you should too

Rebuttal to Molly Stephens 1 Star Review. I was in the store the day your contractor and his employee came to purchase a drill bit (July 17). The one individual did complain about the price. When he asked for a discount, stating that he was a veteran, John the owner offered to give it to him at "his cost." Never the less, this didn't satisfy the man and he continued to complain. Finally, John told him that he'd already been more than fair but if they were still unhappy, they were welcome to shop somewhere else. At this point the man tried to chastise and lecture John about how he should deal with his customers. With that John retracted his offer and asked the two men to leave. The second individual, a black man became belligerent and claimed "discrimination," although nothing whatsoever of a racial bent had occurred. The one woman, who was by the front counter close to the door, told the two that they needed to leave. I did not clearly hear the ensuing conversation but there was a torrent of words from the black person which included a clear and resounding "B###H." I've since been told that Lowes does not even carry the particular bit that your contractor tried to purchase. So, if he was able to find something there which was less expensive to suit his needs, it was not the same item. I feel that John and his employees, at very least deserve a retraction and apology from all concerned. ,

Love this store and the folks who own it and manage it. They are a small family business with ties to the community. This is how all businesses should be. Thank you for remaining open 7 days a week during a global pandemic and giving service with a smile. For the 1 star reviews on here, I'd say those folks were having a bad day. Chris and John at Duneland are awesome!!!

If I could give this business less stars than this, I would. Myself and members of my family have been to this business a few times and were treated poorly on every occasion. Today I was barely acknowledged and tried to speak to the gentleman behind the counter who wouldn't even look up to speak to me until he felt like it. Mind you, there was one other customer in the store, on his cellphone, so they weren't busy. I asked for a specific item and was told where I might be able to find it in the store. When I went to look for it, I decided to leave instead. The customer service I received was rude, cold, and callous. This also wasn't the first time I was treated this way. I won't be back and I'll be making sure others do not support this business as well.

My contractor and one of his employees went here to purchase an item needed to complete a project at my house. The price was roughly 60% higher than Lowes and when our contractor voiced his concerns and surprise, he was treated harshly by the OWNER, who then refused to sell to them. As they went to leave, 2 women who worked there began yelling at them, calling them trash and telling them to leave. One of these women followed them to the door and held it closed behind them. To be clear - my contractor is far from trash. He's ex-Military, has served this Country and one of softest spoken, polite men I know. And his employee is not trash either. Both hard working, kind men, who simply voiced their opinion and they are called trash? Disgusted.
