After his surgery, my son’s prescription was sent to Walgreens and when I arrived, turns out my insurance didn’t cover fulfillment through Walgreens. It was going to cost me almost $200 for two prescriptions. Walgreens told me to transfer it to CVS. I called CVS and they informed me that it usually takes 48 hrs to transfer a prescription. I explained that I needed the prescription that night. They said they’d do their best. I called the doctor’s office to have them send the prescription to CVS. A few hours later I decided to stop in CVS before paying out of pocket at Walgreens. CVS didn’t have my son’s prescription so I started to leave. The pharmacist manager, Jamie, heard my son’s name and explained to me that it usually takes 48 hrs but she would call and have the prescription faxed to her. She was able to fill both prescriptions and save me over $150!! Thank you so much for going above and beyond!

Pharmacy is always busy, I'm not impressed with their rewards program, They put a time limit on how long it's good for. I Don't go there every week to shop ,I pick up my husband's medicine once or twice a month. Just my opinion, I like Walgreens.

I've never had a bit of trouble with the store, but the pharmacy is absolutely terrible. They are consistently out of stock on medications, and don't seem to care about not having orders ready when they are promised. I don't live very close and after driving over a half hour one way to pick up meds it's very frustrating to get a flippant shrug from the employee and get told to just come back later. This happens almost every time I go there. Unless you have plenty of time to waste stay away from this place.

The pharmacy staff is less than pleasant on the phone and in person for Rx pick ups. If you have to call with a question, you’re cut off/interrupted before you can complete your question or explanation. They’re repeatedly very curt and impolite, almost as if your question is a huge inconvenience to their time. Additionally, the drive-thru often has several vehicles backed up, long wait times, and once again, the same curt, discourteous attitudes and demeanor from the staff at the window. C’mon CVS pharmacy staff; if you dislike your job that much, move on. We all have bad days on the job, but this happens too often, and quite frankly, it is annoying and unacceptable.

I went to make a medical purchase of one item kept behind the front counter. I was happy to see the cashier using a face mask. I also was wearing one. But when asked if there was hand sanitizer I could use after he handed me the receipt and my purchase, the cashier said no. He had a large pump type hand sanitizer behind the “glass” for him to use but nothing was available for the customer. I’m glad they are protecting their workers, but deeply disappointed that nothing was available to use as a customer. Unacceptable, in my eyes, as a health care worker.

Moved from Walgreens to CVS a few years ago and so glad I did... Better prices, better service and friendly people...! Got their Silver Script insurance too... Very reasonable!... Update.. February 10, 2019... Went in to get my prescriptions filled today and ask some questions and Candice in pharmacy took care of me like a baby... Answered all my questions, filled my scripts and I was on my way... Always treated well here with people like Candice...! 5 Stars.... Now for my rant to people who think they’re the only ones who need their prescriptions... The phone in the CVS pharmacy (both this one and the one on Calumet) never stops ringing and I’m not kidding..! These pharmacists are working their tail off and they have to get it right..! I’m surprised they can stay so friendly under all the duress... I’ve been to both CVS stores in Valpo for flu shots and they always do their best and get me in and out pretty darn quick... I have nothing but respect for these people and the problem is the demanding, inconsiderate, me, me, me general public....!!!

This place needs a change of management, my last CVS in Lake in the Hills, Il. was awesome, this one is terrible. Go to get a Shingles vaccine, no were too busy now, come at 8 am. So I get there a 7 :50 to be first. Sorry, we dont have any now. Another wasted trip and they wont call you when they have it in. Do you think they could have offered to call the CVS stores in the area to see if they have it. That would be good customer service, something this store lacks.

Pharmacy made a mistake this morning and when I called to inquire about what had happened the pharmacist told me she was busy and they tried the best they could.... what happened to “I’m sorry.” Now I have to make a second trip to the store, in the snow while sick, to pick of the medication that they forgot to give me.

The Pharmacy staff there is amazing, and goes way out of their way to help you. And yeah, you might have to wait, because THEY ARE ALWAYS SLAMMED, and THEY ARE ALWAYS FRIENDLY. (I think our beloved President's negativity is giving the eternally grumpy a reason to post negative reviews, which helps explain those posted here. ) They apologized all over to me when they ran out of this drug I needed, and then called me personally the next day to apologize for making me wait an extra 12 hours to get it (amazing customer service when it wasn't even their problem). Life happens. It's when you have great people like this who treat you with respect and kindness that it really changes. By the way, if the negative people on google also wrote reviews when people gave exceptional service, it wouldn't bother me so much.
