I have been a customer of Amerigas for more than 10 years. The employees are super and willing to help. Doing business with Amerigas in Cedar Rapids is like visiting old friends you know like feeling comfortable with employees.Once and only once because they were closed I went to a competitor to get LP and that place treated like Krap. I highly recommend Amerigas.

I went to get a propane tank refilled at the end of the work day. Everyone was very helpful to do the job! I was able to get the tank refilled in a quick return. I would recommend them to any services they provide. Great people!

We purchased a home in the country outside of Cedar Rapids in the Fall of 2017. We mistakenly had Linn Co-Op fill our gas tank for 19 months with zero issues. One day we came home and we had no gas. The tank had just been filled the week before. After four days of cold showers and trips to menards and after hour phone calls, we called Linn County Co-Op for their help. They came out immediately and discovered Amerigas had put a lock on our tank. We had lived at the property for 19 months. When we confronted Amerigas they claimed that they owned the tank so they locked it. I asked about attempting to notify us that it was their tank and they stated that had sent letters to the previous owner. I asked why they wouldn’t have just taken the time to look up the new owner when the previous one didn’t respond, or take the time to leave a note rather than just lock a tank. Their response was, “it’s not my problem” Amerigas waited 19 months to “lock” one of their tanks and made zero effort to get in contact with the homeowner. Had they given a simple notice of its their tank and to gas through them it would of been a simple fix. Instead their customer service doesn’t even deserve one star. Linn Co-Op went above and beyond to help us out while all Amerigas did was make the issue more difficult and offer zero solution. The employees of the Co-Op were shocked at the actions of Amerigas. Save yourself the headache and call the co-op. I could go on and on about the negative terrible experience but don’t want to give them another minute of my time.
