I’ve been a loyal US Bank customer for over 20 years, since before they were even US Bank! When we moved to the Lawrence area I considered switching to a local bank, but US Bank was convenient with its 4 locations, longer hours, and national presence. Recently they changed their hours to only 9-12pm, and that includes their drive-up service. I know times change but this takes away the convenience factor for me. Yes, I do internet banking, mobile deposits, etc. but there is still a large segment of the population who make choices based on an in-person relationship. Loyalty should go both ways.

Unfortunately, the hours are prohibitive to being useful for customers. I opened an account to use this location but the hours make it impossible. I thought perhaps the downtown location would offset this deficiency, but they are hardly any better.

Went in to set up a standard checking account and was denied service. The banker was rude and unhelpful. Set up a bank account with another bank and had no problems whatsoever. I wanted to use the service to deposit a check into a new account which I will eventually transfer all of my finances to, I told her this first. I mentioned that if your checking account is $6.95 a month then I might not keep the account very long, because that is a lot for a bank account. She immediately switched and refused service and said she would not help me if I was going to close my account in the future despite my own financial needs. Opening and closing of my account is my own business and she is there to provide a service, I would be paying for the account and the service on a monthly basis until I didn’t need the account anymore. So the loss to the financial institution would be 0. They would gain monthly fees! So I left, and took my business elsewhere. Very NEGATIVE experience, and I left feeling unhappy and misunderstood. Her name was Alyssa. Poor listening skills.
