We adopted our beagle June from the Helping Hands Humane Society (HHHS) in Topeka nearly 2 years ago. She was a "death row" dog because she came in with with a bunch of cysts all over her body. A foster volunteer at HHHS worked very hard to get donations to allow June to have surgery to help her survive. The foster mom was successful at getting money for the surgery. The foster mom is a vet tech at Dr. Smith's office. Dr. Smith performed the surgery and saved June's life which made it possible for us to adopt her. Ever since we welcomed June into our family Dr. Smith has continued to be her vet. The staff is wonderful an Dr. Smith is compassionate, honest, a good vet. Her prices are very reasonable. If you want to trust your beloved pets to a good vet, we recommend Dr. Smith. You will not regret the short drive to Tonganoxie.

They were able to get me in short notice when nobody else would which was nice. I took my dog in for quick relief, it was their first time seeing her. My only complaint is they charged me the normal exam fee but didn’t even give her an overall exam (teeth, heart rate, gums, ears, eyes). If they had, they would have noticed she has a heart murmur and filed teeth from anxiety. I’ve never had a vet just skip doing an overall health check.

Don't go here expecting a friendly, chatty staff that will baby talk you and your pet, but if you want a vet that's good and gets straight to the point and is no-nonsense, Dr. Smith is the vet for you. She did thorough testing and diagnosed my dog and was blunt and forthright about what I need to do and what would happen if I didn't follow through. She was informative and gave me literature on the diagnosis so I was positive about what had to be done when I left. All my questions were answered and I'm confident in what I'm doing at home based on her instructions. If you want to be coddled go somewhere else. If you want the best outcome for your pet I highly recommend you go here.

We are a military family and have recently moved to Tacoma, WA. Luckily my mother still lives in that area because I can’t find another vet of this quality that is simultaneously budget friendly! When we visit home we’ll be taking our much loved pups to Vicki. She’s honest, blunt and doesn’t shy away from providing my pets 5 star treatment. I sure wish she’d open another clinic in Washington. You won’t find another vet like her.

We have a dog with many issues, they are so great with him. So caring and gentle. I love the no frills, no extras approach of Dr. Smith, she is not trying to continually up sell us. She was also quick to refer us out when she wanted a second opinion and also follows up. Our pets love visiting the office.

Doc Smith is amazing. We have a 1 yr old bull mastiff. He is a great dog. Well he had a big open sore on his back. Doc Smith took very good care of him and now he is doing great. Recovery time will be long but we have a direction to go with him now. I believe doc Smith does what she does because she loves animals. She is kinda dry with people but people aren't her patients so it really dont matter. She is great with the animals and that is what matters to me. Staff is great. Prices are affordable. I will be taking all my animals to her for as long as she will have them. Thank you so much for helping my babies.

Dr. Smith is the best, I've been taking my pets there for years and have had nothing but good experiences. Very friendly and caring staff. I also have kenneled my dog there several times with excellent results. Best Vet ever!
