17 Best dollar store in Mobile, Alabama (AL) 2024

Man this place is awesome. I loved it. I went to use the bathroom and asked for the key, they said to just use the women's bathroom. So I did! When I came out this girl waiting to use the bathroom got an attitude with me for using the women's bathroom. I'd love to get more into it but I don't know if you have the time to read it. ~Titus

FIRST OFF Let me say I’ve been a true supporter of Dollar General for YEARS . Tonight something tragic happened and I do NOT like the way I was treated by an employee at the Dauphin location. I arrived at the store around 6 pm and the doors were locked i saw an employee standing at the register attending to her cellular device instead of communicating on whether the store was closed or not. She just stood there looking at me and several other customers knocking. I was totally devastated. I’ve never been so rudely ignored. I would definitely like this matter looked into . I will also be contacting the corporate headquarters to look into this situation. VERY POOR SERVICE ~Keiara

This is a very nice Dollar store. They have good low prices on household items, gifts, cards, snacks and candy. I really getting snacks and treats here. They also have good holiday items, especially Christmas decorations and gift wraps! I like their good priced movie DVDs also. ~Janna

Nice, clean, organized store! Went in for a new pair of reading glasses! All employees and customers were masked and practicing safety! Easy in and out store! Fast, friendly cashier! Halloween is out!! A certain craft store, no names mentioned but HL is their initials, was putting out Christmas items last month!! At least some, like Dollar Tree, are pacing themselves and taking the holidays as they come! Love that!! ~scott

Not sure why others posted about neat/clean store. Must be confused because this is hands down a complete embarrassing mess of a store. I have never seen something so terrible. Armed gaurd at the front door was also ridiculous. If the need is there fine. But not standing at the front door. I should habe taken pictures. I popped in because I was close and needed a few things. Almost before I left wished I'd kept driving. Horrible atmosphere ~mike

This is the first time that I have actually looked at the website for 2461 Island Rd. Mobile, AL. I would like to point out that 90% of the photos for this location are NOT of this store. There are many reasons why I know this but the most important reason and also the cause of this review is that the shelves have NEVER been stocked like the photos show since the store was about 2 months in business. I really hate going to this store because they can't or don't keep items in stock. I don't know how restock items are ordered but there is a major problem here. Is it the management, the POS system, or what? The problem seems to be getting worse day after day. Sometimes there are carts of items to be stocked all over the store blocking the aisles but the shelves are empty. The coolers stay half empty. I'm tired of trying to shop at this store, I have been passing it by and driving elsewhere or to a different Dollar General to shop because this store is very poorly stocked. ~Charles

Unfortunately , this is the worst location. The parking lot is always extremely nasty. Then the store is always empty. This store hasn’t been stocked in a long time! If other DG stores are able to maintain their stock to some extent, I don’t understand why this one can’t. They have random toys on racks that are placed in the front where clothes for kids used to go, not even sure anymore. The last time I was in there I came in, got what I needed and never saw any employees. Luckily the self check out was working, but how much merchandise is stollen like this?? There was one other person behind me at the self check out and we couldn’t believe that no one had come out at all! There is a bell on the door so you know when someone enters. I was in for over 19 mins as well. The staff is always busy talking to each other as well when ringing you up to where you are normally waiting while said employee holds your stuff, distracted and not scanning. I won’t be going back anymore. ~Melissa

This is a very nice Dollar store. They have so many good items for low prices. I like how they always have good holiday decor and decorations. They have good snacks and treats and meal items. They also have good cleaning items. I like getting good holiday treats for low price, I just got plenty of Easter candy. Staff here seem nice. ~Janna
