13 Best grocery store in Mobile, Alabama (AL) 2024

Great store. It is older, but adequate. I like that all the produce is inside or coolers with doors. I see a lot of people who are staying in the hotels downtown shopping here. No big lines at the cashier and no self checkout (I HATE SELF CHECKOUT). Local grocer, so you know what you spend in going back into the community. I see tons of older folks shopping here, too. I come here often when in the area. ~Andrea

What a nice little food oasis in the middle of downtown Mobile grocery desert. Excellent selection of fresh food, vegetables, staples, deli and more. Oh and don’t forget the beer and ice cream! Extremely helpful staff, clean, clean, clean! I was also pleasantly surprised to find their prices were reasonable for a downtown location. Please support this local business! ~Greggory

I love this pharmacy, they are the most helpful and kind/caring employees. I moved downtown to the Oakleigh area 14 months ago with a Winn-Dixie right around the corner, but still drive to Grelot and Hillcrest to use that pharmacy. Not saying there is anything wrong with Catherine St Winn-Dixie, I just really love the staff at the Grelot location and I'm a very loyal customer. It's hard these days to find people in customer service that really have a heart and care about their customers, so I will absolutely continue to drive across town to this pharmacy. ~Angela

Nice, clean, organized store! Went in for a new pair of reading glasses! All employees and customers were masked and practicing safety! Easy in and out store! Fast, friendly cashier! Halloween is out!! A certain craft store, no names mentioned but HL is their initials, was putting out Christmas items last month!! At least some, like Dollar Tree, are pacing themselves and taking the holidays as they come! Love that!! ~scott

This is a great grocery store. They are clean and safe and have everything you may need or want. I really like their bakery and they have wonderful fresh produce. Staff there is nice and will help you if you need assistance. ~Janna

The staff at the pharmacy went above and beyond to help me get my medicine. We browsed the store and was quite surprised at the food selections alone and how extensive it was. Definitely will be back. ~Christena

Was looking for decent priced canned goods, to fill my pantry. I'm so glad I stopped here. The prices were great. The staff, I encountered in the store, were wonderful and friendly. Great place. Will shop again. ~Enid

This is a nice Wal-Mart grocery store. I am glad they have plenty of good fresh produce. They also have nice bakery items. I really like their coconut cream pie and carrot cake! The store seems clean and safe. They have very good prices! ~Janna

When I arrived to pick up my order, I called the number posted to pickup the order. I got no answer after letting it ring until it hung up. I did this several times. Eventually ,. A delivery attendant came by and said they don't answer the phone. Not sure how you're supposed to initiate your pickup when you arrive. ~Michael

Wow! I can't believe that people can have such a bad attitude towards customers. Trish was the cashier who decided to over charge us, and when I brought it to her attention she told me she "didn't work for that dollar tree" - Incredible!! Why should I be receiving such a bad customer service? I didn't do anything wrong! I was overcharged $5 dollars and then $1.25!! She told me to either "loose the purchase " or go and "get another item". This is an absolute abuse of my rights! Please, double check your tickets!!! I will never return to this store! ~Jomiromiful
