10 Best convenience store in Stamford, Connecticut (CT) 2024

Pharmacist at this location didn't want to apply Doctor office's discount code saying it will take time to apply. Told me insurance discount is more, but when the Bill game insurance didn't cover any discount or coverage. I had to pay out of pocket. If he had spent one minute of his time I could have saved something. There was no one waiting, I don't know he did this even after asking to apply discount, just refused to apply because he wanted to just finish off the billing he already had in system. Cost of all items are way high compared to Target or Walmart. Going to avoid CVS in future. ~Chandra

Cheapest gas but always good quality gas. I've tried other cheap gas and my engine ran rough. Good coffee. ~Kathleen

I have been living in the downtown area now for one year now. The closet convenience store to my apartment that sells ct lottery is this store. I have in my own experiences with various employees ( who happen to be all related), treated in a demeaning manner 75% of the time ( reason unknown to me). I am disabled so it is hard for me to go to the other stores further up the road. I have been yelled at that I’m not fast enough getting my money out when there’s only one customer behind me, I have been told I’m in the way with my walker when using it even though I had moved it out of the way so people can get by and I’ve been told on multiple occasions that the lottery machine is not working, so I walk out and see them service other customers lottery numbers after they told me the machine was broken. I was given a vehicle by my daughter so that I could drive to the 24 hour store on Atlantic St. as to avoid having to go to this store and suffer the anxiety and blatant discrimination that I receive when I go. Unfortunately, I do not have the vehicle anymore so because of my disability feel forced to go here to purchase my numbers, cigarettes and whatever other items I might need. Tonight because I directed a young man to a different store to go to because his milk he bought there was spoiled and the owner ( he claimed to be the owner) wouldn’t refund or give a new 1/2 gallon to him, I thought to help him out and obviously shouldn’t have because the “owner” had gotten belligerent with me, starting yelling at me not to tell his customers of their other options in the area etc.. to the point of I came out of character and ended up yelling back at him and was band from the store forever. Funny thing is it’s his lose every time I go to that store they are getting $20+ out of me and tonight would’ve been $60. I have been patronizing the store everyday for the past six months do to my disability with hesitation never knowing if they are going to be abusive to me or not. I’m not sure if it’s just me that this happens to, but I warn caution to anyone who is disabled, do to my experiences and I have lived in Stamford my whole life, had 3 family businesses and worked for the State of CT civil servant. I have never treated anyone with such disrespect and disregard especially disabled individuals. I myself have given extra help to accommodate people with disabilities as I know life in general is extra hard for them. Regardless of what your person opinion is of any individual when it comes to business and dealing with the public it doesn’t matter what the circumstances the customer should always be right and it’s not as if I was complaining about anything in the first place. To sum it up this man banned a customer that spends at the least $20 a day in his store and the most upwards of $60+ for a $4, 1/2 gallon of milk? Hmmm, that is not good business and I felt that people should know what I’ve been going through at this store over the past year because of it. Will I let Karma take care of this maybe, I’m deciding now if the ADA needs to be notified and the BBB! If anyone else has experienced the same treatment I would like to here from you please. The name is convenience and it is up until you walk inside and get treated as though you are less than human, therefore it is not a convenience it is walking into a demeaning and unpleasant store. ~NIcole

Went to this gas station frequently and had no issues for a long time. Today was very different. Went to fill my tank paid and left. When I drove off I realized the gauge isn't moving up like it usually did. I turned around and went right back and told them what happen. The rude man behind the counter chuckled and said there is nothing he can do about it and that there must be something wrong with my car. Went in circles with them for about 5 mins and was sick of it. I left went to another gas station down the road filled my tank and came back and showed them there is nothing wrong with my car. Still there was no effort to make me whole or even an apology. Will not be going back there. ~Peta

Go to this pharmacy, Ike is the best pharmacist I've ever dealt with, he goes way above and beyond to make sure customers get exactly what they need. He has spent more time on the phone with my insurance company than I have. He's always making sure the doctors prescription and the insurance coverage result in the best, most affordable option. The rest of the business is good as well, it's an older location with decent selection, but not as well stocked as some of the larger competing pharmacies. Lots of sales on seasonal items, and decent prices even when no sale. ~Nonov

One star is enough for this place. Customer service is something they need to improve. I visited this place 5 times and always the same bad attention. I visited this place to send money via Western Union. I was second in line and behind me 3 other people. When it was my turn, the lady at the counter told me that I had to wait until she finished serving the other 3 people behind me. I said it's okay. When it was my turn again there were 2 new clients behind me. And again the assistant told me that I had to wait again. This kind of attention doesn't make any sense to me. As customers, it is not our business if they do not get a good commission from Western Union. If it is not a good way for them to earn money through the money transfer service, the logical thing is to stop offering this service. Every time I was there to send money, they did the same. If you want to send money at this location, you may have to wait until they finish with all other customers, even when you are the first to arrive. Very crazy. By the way. They do not practice social distancing. It is a small place with 8 people inside, everyone is quite close to each other. It is a waste of time and you will be exposed to a high risk of COVID contamination. The worst place. If you don’t get enough commission offering the western union services stop offering them. Clients are not supposed to pay for that. It is not our business we are clients. ~Hi

I went to get medication for my daughter that sent by her Doctor. Getting there this morning I was told they sent request to doctor for authorization which I told them how can that be that doctor ask us to get it pickup that she has sent to cvs. After another minutes waiting I was told again that oooo they will make refill I should come in 15mins and I ask what the problem was and the lady attending to said I should just come in 15mins. I left and came in 15mins only to be told they are on break. What a waste of time and a way of tossing me around. Very poor customer service. ~Eyitayo
