DOGPerfect - Lakewood Ranch

The shops near the intersection of busy State Road 70 and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard have been steadily developing during the past year or two. I was very glad to see DOGPerfect arrive here, as I previously shopped two different smaller, local pet supply shops that unfortunately both closed. Recently, I stopped by this location as I saw they sell Fromm's cat food, which is very high quality. The shop was bright, well organized, clean, and had a huge assortment of dog foods and products. If you have a canine companion, you'll undoubtedly find what you need here. They also offer grooming services, though I think this may be only for dogs. That's unsurprising, of course, given the shop name. I was very pleased that DOGPerfect offers a small but ample selection of cat products, to include the specific food I mentioned. I paid $22 for a 5-pound bag of Fromm's, which is reasonable to me considering when I previously found it at a now closed shop back around 2018 it ran for $18, and we all know how prices have soared in 2021 and 2022. The staff here were very friendly, and they have a loyalty program with perks. In sum, DOGPerfect is a welcome addition to the Lakewood Ranch retail scene. They offer high quality product at fair prices. I'll definitely keep coming back! ~Jay

Publix Super Market at University Corner

Not from the area, or the state for that matter. Had to stop in quickly for sunscreen and was amazed, very nice store, clean, great selection, friendly staff, cost-effective, and fresh bakery goods. Needless to say we got more than just sunscreen, the deli and bakery had fresh food, so we got lunch and snacks also. I really wish we had Publix in Michigan!! ~Kyle

The Market at Lakewood Ranch

Quite a big farmers market with lots of different small business to check out. A few farm stands with veggies and fruit and many more produced stands with treats, bowls, flowers, jewelry, bread and fresh fish. Nice views around the developed area with lots more to be developed. Also watch out for the gators in the area as we saw a small one right one near one of the lookouts. Enjoy! ~Mike

Chase Bank

I had the most bizarre experience at this chase bank. I needed to have some bonds reissued and the form required a signature guaranteed stamp as instructed to me by the department of treasury. I called ahead of time and was told they could perform this service. However when I arrived both of the employees who are certified acted completely dumbfounded. They had no idea what I was talking about and said they couldn’t give me the stamp to certify my signature even when I presented all the requested documentation. I couldn’t tell if it was because they didn’t feel comfortable and judged me (they kept whispering things to each other back and forth) or if they were genuinely clueless about the process. I ended up driving to Fidelity down the road and they were able to stamp the form and get me on my way in just a few minutes. I am sharing in case someone else is searching for this service, as I expected a large chain branch to be much more knowledgeable in this area. ~Shay
