6 Best general store in Ocala, Florida (FL) 2025

I’ve grown up in Marion Oaks and I have been going to dollar general here since before I can remember every time I’ve gone the employees have been as sweet as can be but today Lisa at the front had some kind of attitude. I had some things in my hand so I just placed them on the counter as best I could without dropping anything. When I asked her how she was doing today she said “I would be better if you would stop placing things down all the way over there” I’d placed everything on the counter in front of her. I guess it was just too much work for her to reach her arm out to ring everything up. I usually try my best to make people who are in customer service as comfortable as possible because I know they deal with some rough people throughout the day but whatever she may be going through that bothers her to the point where she has to be snarky to the customers is not a good look. The only reason I even gave two Stars was because of the service I’ve gotten in the past because Lisa made me so uncomfortable that I almost left What I had bought sitting right there. ~Lilia

I stop by here weekly. Wonderful people on staff, great deals, good service, quick checkout--- little or no waiting and store is very clean. It's a good place ! ~Don

gosh, DG seems to be going downhill. I can’t believe another price hike on the bottled water… It’s over 65% increase. I think they cut back the hours of staff and expect them to do more. I’ve always found the staff to be very helpful but appear to be overworked. It really rips me when they don’t change the price on the shelf and you don’t know that there’s a significant increase until you’re cashing out. ~Wendy
