Argus Building Supply

This is a review in progress - it may change as our work with Argus continues. We signed a contract in June for Argus to design our home and prepare our building permit. He said the process takes ~3 months. It is now November, and we still expect many weeks before submitting our permit. Argus was very responsive when we first met, but once we signed the contract, we primarily worked with Grace and everything got slow and disorganized. - a minor change in our site plan took 2-3 weeks - we originally asked for post & pier but they designed for a slab - they put the wrong address on our designs and septic permit multiple times; it's OK to make a mistake, but they haven't been able to correct the address for 6+ weeks As I wrote above, this review is in progress. We hope things improve and that we can submit our building permit soon. ~Kelly

CWR Hawaii Inc

Excellent customer services! Very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the different options for my task of towing a vehicle and dragging trees with my truck and winch. Employee had another customer to assist, and was very courteous in taking care of both of us at the same time. (They carry only high quality equipment that will get any job done!) ~Katana

Texaco

THE BEST! I’ve never reviewed any gas station or service center but they all deserve it, especially for an industry known for ripping people off, like some tire companies in Hilo. Friendly, fast, low priced. Had a very difficult to find slow leak and when they couldn’t find it someone else came to help and they were able to and got it plugged. Mahalo! ~R

Hilo Medical Center

Went to the ED and it's upsetting that I am just another person being added to the list of others who have not had a pleasant experience here, and with the ED nurses in particular. To start off, I have had friends mention that the nurses here were not too considerate of the rest that patients need in order to get better and be discharged. I am pretty sure no one intends to just hang out and feel worse when they can just rest, feel better, and go home. After going to the ED with my other half and spending hours being talked to, treated, and figuring out what else could be wrong, my other half just wanted to rest. The nurses, on the other hand, seem to make that difficult because of their seemingly innate ability to talk amongst themselves and laugh aloud. I've heard some nurses making jokes to other employees when really they were just plain rude remarks, then they're making plans on going out or something but really... is there not the station they can do that instead of (what feels like) right by my room?! From a patient point of view, it just seemed both unprofessional and disrespectful. Despite wanting to say something so that my other half and the other patient in the room could rest properly, I felt that making a scene would be a worse idea... Especially since this same situation has happened time and time before without any change. This is my shot in the dark in hoping that more can be done to better train and educate these nurses for patients that simply want rest and go home. ~c
