6 Best gas station in Portland, Maine (ME) 2024

There are no less than four gas station/convenience store operations within about a half mile of each other in this section of Rosemont. Each one will most certainly provide you with what you need, but Jake’s won’t leave you light in the pockets like the others will gladly do if you’re going to be pumping gas. You’ll never get hosed as the prices there are always at or below the daily mean. Jake’s also boasts a well-curated sample of local beers with good, sometimes great deals available. The wine selection is modest, but it won’t disappoint your tastes unless you’re a bit finicky. If you are, then ditch the wine for pints. The Ben & Jerry’s freezer is right near the entrance. As for the customer service, you’ll remember it for all the right reasons. Good people. Better dogs. ~John

I wrote one for Rusty Lantern but I figured I'll write one for both as they are run by the same awesome, friendly, professional crew. I am here for a breakfast stop every weds morning around 830am with my Jack Russell Terrier who also thinks the world of this dog friendly place (they have a shelf specifically for dog treats at a level a dog can admire them). Both ladies and their manager that work the sales register are fantastic and always remember us, are always all smiles. Bathrooms are super clean which is amazing in itself. Great food, good coffee, draft soda. New maintenance guy is wonderful too. ~Lisa

I shop here and work here. It's convenient store pricing and inflation is fuk! I try my best to spread the good vibes and my customers are good to us. Supply issues and staffing are tough but from me, I love my people and community. You are all the reason I still care. ~Me

Stopped for gas and to use the restroom. Only one bathroom inside, felt like an indoor porta-potty. Apparently the actual porta potties out back are even worse. Gas pump didn't give a receipt. I didn't buy anything, so didn't interact with the staff. The convenience store seemed well stocked for your normal gas station. Probably wouldn't have commented on this if not for the poster I saw in the bathroom announcing some kind of clean restroom competition. I'm not from here so not familiar with this chain, but I sincerely hope this place is *not* winning the clean bathroom contest. Originally gave two stars, but then remembered that many places have closed their public restrooms entirely, so bonus star for at least having a bathroom open. ~Jessica

Started dealing with them about 15 years ago and they have predictable and honest. they always come next day or same day depending on when i make the call. their rates ate comparable, if not lower than than other big name competition around Portland. Danny filled up my tank last and he was very pleasant, definitely a great serviceman. ~Paul
