Best beauty salon in East Lansing, Michigan (MI) 2024

The foreign man that was cutting hair in there today really didn't seem to listen to what I wanted and just did what he thought was best. He did not take the time to cut in all my layers properly. He chopped off almost 4 inches of my hair (over a years worth of growth) when I asked for a trim, one inch off or whatever was necessary for damage (maybe an inch and a half) and yet the top layer of my hair is still the same length, he only spent maybe 15 or 20 minutes on my haircut and didn't blend anything despite that being one of my biggest requests. He told me if he only cut an inch off it wouldn't be even with this one piece in the back and i told him I don't care, it's curly so it's not noticeable so long as there's layers and I want to grow it out. When he showed me in the mirror I just said thanks and left for fear of him removing more, and then he tried to sell me products from the front. All my friends keep asking if I'm wearing a wig, and if I didn't work outside in the heat I would start wearing one. Every time I look in the mirror I want to cry...all the growth I've had for the past 2 YEARS is gone...it's not that it looks that bad I just HATE it, it's NOT what I wanted and now I have to wait MONTHS for it to grow out so I can go somewhere else...I'm pretty upset. ~Natalie

I booked Fluid Salon for hair & makeup services on site at my wedding venue. Their website had pictures of hairstyles that were similar to what I was looking for, they had great reviews, and were nearby my venue and would travel. I had my bridal hair & makeup trial done at the salon. My girl Victoria was awesome. She helped me decide on what I envisioned for my wedding and guided me on what hairstyle would work best for my hair type. I showed inspiration pics from pinterest and she delivered. I really wanted my hair down for my wedding and for my trial we tried it down to see how long the curls lasted. She called it. My hair lasted maybe 3 hours. So on my actual wedding day I was confident I needed it pinned up better to hold and last all night and trusted her style choice. She did an amazing job and my hair lasted all day and night. I got so many compliments! She did my airbrush makeup as well. It was definitely the way to go. I felt so beautiful and it felt light and lasted all day long. So now on to the entire team. Communication with the salon was phenomenal. The timeline for hair & makeup that was put together was so organized and beautiful. The day of the team came right on time and started right away. Hair & makeup went without a hitch and we ended about an hour earlier than expected. This gave us time for some snacks and to enjoy the morning. My entire bridal party of 7 girls, plus myself and 2 moms all looked gorgeous thanks to Fluid Salon! Highly recommend them as your hair & makeup dream team if your wedding is near Lansing/Mid Michigan!! ~Taylor

You will ABSOLUTELY LOVE getting your hair cut at this shop. These Women are EXPERIENCED friendly and have flexible schedules. My Son will ONLY have Yong cut his hair. She is the BEST he says. You will NOT be disappointed. ~Lisa
