Woodcroft Market

First off, yes the staff is friendly. Secondly, the prices are high and not convenient at all. A bottle of wine at Meijer is $9, the same bottle here $15. Why so high? I checked the receipt and all my purchases were listed as something else. This store is a scam, or they need to organize their inventory a lot better. ~Jay

The Local Grocer

I found this store to be an interesting visit, and would recommend anyone in the area to give it a try at least once! I went on a Monday morning, and the staff were working on getting things staged for the week. The store was a little understocked, and a little messy. There are lots of Michigan products here, some that I would not have found at the local Kroger, Mejers, or Walmart. Frozen meats like whole duck, ground bison, and even ground boar! I ended up picking up a bag of Flint Coffee, which is roasted in the shop above the building! If you're ever in the area and what to check out something neat, this is a great store to stop in and see. ~Emily

Mr B's Foodland

I remember like 4-5 years ago I came in here to buy some stuff for my grandfather spent like $200 in there I had paid for all my items and I remember I had forgot one item and turned around and cashiers yelled at me to leave my grocery cart at the front door because they thought I was going to steal some stuff. Then they told me if I don’t like it .. I can leave.. never shopped here since that day.. I’ll rather shop at Walmart and have them ask for a receipt at the door.. ~TRUCK

Nikolai's Neighborhood Party

They have High John the Conqueror, coffin nails, a small but premium selection of Hands of Glory, and various gris gris. They have six rollercoasters including two of traditional all wood construction, an Alpine slide, and six carousels made of real stuffed horses, all of which belonged to despots and dictators of the past, all long deposed. They have redwood trees, deeds to properties on the Moon, roc eggs, a lion with the head of a lion and the body of a lion but not the same lion, Sherman tanks, hot glue guns, and pieces of the One True Cross. They have cholos, chorizo, and chronological devices of all sorts. A pirate ship. A flying car. Thirty five angels to watch over us all. And they sell single cigarettes. ~Rick

Landmark Food Center

I like this place, they have good meats. But if you are white, be prepared to be treated rudely. My cashier was very kind and chatty to the black gentleman in front of me but when I checked out, she never acknowledged me, preferring to talk on her phone. Didn't even make eye contact or thank me. Again, good product, just not very kind if you're white. ~Jon

Walmart Supercenter

Normally when I shop at Wal-Mart, which I'm a bargain/deal shopper so I'm there for hours at a time, employees are hard to find and aren't very friendly. It doesn't matter which location I'm visiting, I'm made to feel like an inconvenience, rather than appreciated for the fact that my patronage is what helps to provide that person/employee with a paycheck. TODAY, was not like any other day. Three, rather young, employees made today an extremely good day. The first young man, I'm not sure which department he worked in because he was just passing by, but he stopped and asked how another shopper and myself were doing. He asked if we needed help finding anything. We didn't need any assistance, but it was wonderful being asked because it does not normally happen, to me anyway. The second was a nice young woman with vibrant colored hair working in electronics, I believe. I happened to be walking by the area and witnessed her giving complements to another customer that was passing by. It warmed my heart to witness. Finally, the young man working the self-checkouts by the pharmacy was very friendly and helpful. He tried up assist me finding an item I had been all over the store trying to find. When he determined the item may possibly be out of stock, he then told me about where he personally saw it at a competing store. Corporate bosses may not like that, but I call it wonderful customer service! I'm a thankful shopper to have had my day made brighter! ~Rose
