Mimi's Car Wash by Fort Knox

They post pictures of license plates. Patrons that frequent the wash bays apparently either vandalize the bays or equipment. I can certainly understand that owning the wash bay and dealing with inconsiderate people is something that comes with the territory. I just do not understand the decision making and logic behind posting pictures of license plates of vehicles or people. It’s definitely not a deterrent. It’s more of an emotional response and it invites more harm then good. Fostering a good working relationship with Port Jervis Police and the successful criminal prosecution and civil restitution is more effective. It’s a small town and the word will get out fast. Try asking for the patrol cars to increase the visibility and presence of your business. They also pin up little arrogant signs with arrows and pictures informing people not to spray truck beds etc etc. If you use the same vacuum cleaner over and over again, they post notes on the vacuum cleaners that read “this vacuum is utilized more than any other vacuum on the premises, there are other vacuums to use”. It’s beyond strange. The car wash in Pennsylvania is only 1-2 miles from this one. The wash is amazing. It’s high power, warm water and the same price ($2.00) for 4 minutes. The soap is really visible on the vehicle and you can even smell the detergent while spraying compared to Mimi’s Car Wash. You barely notice any soap coming from Mimi’s sprayers. I only stop at Mimi’s car wash when my car is dusty or when I don’t need major washing done to the vehicle. The pressure is not really there for whatever reason. The Pennsylvania car wash can get packed due to the two bays that feature the automatic feature. The remaining bays are self service and you’re in and out. The PA car wash also has a person that cleans the bays and guess what? You don’t feel watched, there isn’t any kind of arrogant or condescending signage or notes and the price is right. ~Flight

Sawkill Creek Outfitters

Thrilled to have this store in our community! While they have tons of supplies and gear for all our adventure needs; I am more impressed with the kindness of the owners! Tonight they went above and beyond to accommodate my Girl Scout Brownie troop. Jay was nice enough to educate the girls, give them a badge, and offer to help with our hiking and camping needs. Joan was helpful in demonstrating backpacks and chatting with the girls. Definitely check them out! ~Rachael

Affordable Auto Sales of PJ, LLC

Shady dealers. Worst case scenario. They sold us a minivan for our family. Knowing good and well it was a piece of junk. First day it stopped running and we spent a month with a “loaner” on their dealer plates until our warranty fixed that issue. But it was just a cover up job. Next the alternator went. Now less than a year later, needs a new engine. They kept forcing the warranty down our throats. We know why now. The car was so dirty I spent an entire day cleaning it myself after purchase. The worst part was to ensure the sale the guy clearly had his misses come down and pretend to be interested in the same car so we would buy it same day. Given the lack of availability at car lots in the past few years we felt we had to jump. Surely regretting that now after sinking tons of money into an already over priced car. My suggestion is don’t waste your time here. You may get lucky, you probably won’t. Even the loaner car was in need of work. ~Brittany
