Reserved a 16 foot truck for moving about a month in advance. Half an hour before we left to pick the truck up, a Penske rep called and told us our truck wouldn’t arrive until 2:00 and we got $10 off our daily rate. We showed up to Home Depot right around 2:00 and received a call while in the store that the truck wouldn’t be available until 3:00. No discount this time. The truck showed up around 2:45, and we completed our move within three hours. When returning the truck to Home Depot, there was some discrepancy on the truck’s mileage indicating that the initial inspection mileage was recorded incorrectly. We had to hang around for 30-45 minutes while a help line call was made to figure out what happened with the mileage, though it had absolutely nothing to do with us and we could literally count on two hands the miles we had driven it between the store and our apartment. I understand this occurred around college move-out season (late May), but our request was submitted well in advance which ended up not meaning much in the end since our reservation was disrupted by several hours, setting us back in our moving time and move-in slot at our new apartment. Kind of disappointing, but at least the Home Depot staff were friendly and understood the situation, even suggesting we ask for a major discount after the second schedule change! ~Anna
