Tried to get a new phone activated after trading in the old one, attempted to do this over the phone, and customer service's automated menu told me I had to go over to the store to get it activated, since I didn't have the old phone on me, and they couldn't send me an authentication text. I go to this store, and they try to authenticate into my account there, and then tell me the same thing and advise that I call customer service.
Called customer service again and pressed 0 to get to an agent, and they were able to access my account by asking me a series of security questions (when the account was opened, what my monthly payment is, etc). Not sure why they couldn't have asked me those questions in the store. If it's not standard protocol then it certainly should be. And if it is then the people working that store on Saturday 2/26 were just lazy. ~Derek
