I don’t consider myself someone who does CrossFit. I am athletic but I am far from an athlete. I have been working out all my life, from dance, sports, and weight lifting to fitness studios, gyms, group exercises, etc. You might even consider me somewhat of a “gym rat”. Yet, somehow I’ve found myself doing CrossFit at CrossFit 355. I have been to several community workouts since September of last year. For the first time ever, I’m considering making CrossFit 355 my “home”.
Mike, the owner, is passionate about coaching and teaching. It is evident by his instruction he wants everyone to succeed. Rachel, second in command has made me feel as though I am part of the family from my very first community WOD. They are wonderful leaders and mentors who will bring out the best in you. In addition, I have met all of the coaches (shout-out to Thad!) and many of the regulars (Joanne, Jennifer, Stacy - to name a few) at CF355 and cannot say enough good things about the community they have built. From what I know about CrossFit, community is what it’s all about. You might go for the workouts but you’ll stay for the people. I recommend CrossFit 355 as a great place to workout, have fun, and be a part of the community! I guess that makes me one of those “unlikely athletes” now. ~Alana
