Best guitar store in Charlottesville, Virginia (VA) 2024

Used to be a spot I frequented regularly, however, I probably won’t go back. I’ve bought a guitar, strings, chords etc. from this place in the past. I’ve noticed that over the years the inventory hasn’t changed much and some of the instruments have an inch of dust on them. Today while browsing per usual an interesting Washburn banjo laying in a case on the floor caught my eye. I’ve been a bluegrass banjo player for 10+ years and have a very nice Deering banjo that I play regularly. While checking it out the owner promptly walked over and said “be careful! That’s a $3,000 banjo!” The comment kinda took me off guard like why do you have it laying on the floor and not behind the counter on a stand out of reach? “Oh yeah” I replied confused. “Yeah so be careful unless you have $3,000” I put it down and walked out. Heck of a sales pitch you got there… let it collect dust with the rest of the instruments. ~Brandon
