Oh! Glorious baked goods: let me extoll thy virtues! The craftsmanship and flavoring brilliance of these bakers is legendary. 15 minutes past opening and the line snakes out the door and down the steps—and for good reason. We sampled 4 or 5 pastries and were transported by each new wonder. The Orange Morning Buns are not to be missed. (Unless your fate is like ours, when we arrived 30 minutes after opening and the first batch was sold out. A sad and wasted day, indeed.) The balance of bright orange and subtle Vietnamese cinnamon is rapturous. I’m in love. My first taste of the almond themed Bear Paw and I fairly sang my joy. Oh, Good Lord, I rarely encounter such baking perfection. Rather sweet for me to eat the whole, but it was still delightful that evening. I’m confident Brown Bear closes 3 days/week for the good health of all of us who would find self-control a serious challenge were these offerings available every day.
