If you’d like to experience terrible customer service, and receive your vehicle back damaged, then Midas is the place to go. We went in for a routine Oil change, Tire rotation, and alignment, and got back a vehicle that looked like it had been playing bumper cars.
Ronnie the service advisor said “We had an accident, we were going to call you but decided not to”.
We were told they had backed our vehicle in to another vehicle on their lot. Rather than notifying us, they proceeded to perform all the services and never called us.
When I asked Ronnie why we weren’t notified he said “We called our insurance, and they told us not to call you”.
This is extremely crooked and unprofessional not to mention straight up criminal.
Furthermore, we were told we still had to pay for the the services they rendered. After explaining to them that we would not pay they finally agreed to waiving the fee, which should never have needed to be discussed. You don’t wreck someone’s car, perform services and expect them to pay, unless you are begging for a lawsuit.
The body shop we went to said this was the not the first time they have dealt with Midas related negligence, and won’t be the last if people get fooled by their negligence.
Their insurance company is also a joke, Nationwide. We had to pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle as we weren’t going to drive a wrecked and damaged car until someone looked at it. Nationwide is sending us a check, however, they refuse to cover a rental any longer until we send the car to the shop to actually be repaired. No surprise the Nationwide preferred shop initially told is it wouldn’t be until July that they could repair. At this point hopefully you can understand how this is not going to work. We took it to a other shop who can see us sooner but nationwide still won’t cover the rental since ours was deemed “safe and drivable” by both shops. We will be driving a damaged vehicle with no clue of what is actually wrong with the vehicle since they won’t fully know until they rip the parts off.
Moral of the story, they’ll cover the repairs but we have to drive a damaged car until then. DO NOT GO TO MIDAS under any circumstances unless you want to experience criminal behavior and crooked employees. Be reminded, I was told by our body shop that this was not the first time an incident as occurred with them. Stay away from their services at all costs. ~Miles
