I work right behind the exchange and stop by every now and then to take a look. I am always suprised by the selection this place has! Tons of stuff Ive forgotten about or didnt even know existed. The owner is extreamly knowledable and a very nice person. Will continue to shop there! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOPS!

I literally could not recommend this place more. I've been here a couple of times and always have a fun time. It felt like literally everywhere I looked, there was something cool. The place is packed which means you can find stuff here that you won't see anywhere else (I've found several harder to find things that I've been keeping an eye out for for a while here) and you can browse for hours and find something that you didn't even know you were looking for alongside what you *were* looking for. Also the owner was so nice and helped me locate what I was trying to find and directed me towards some new stuff to listen to as well. So happy!

Great place and friendly owner. Has almost any genre you could imagine and seems to always have what I'm looking for. Very reasonable prices even for new items. Great records, cassettes, merch, and more.

I like the passion that the owner has, but it just feels like you're going through an old storage unit that someone just threw records and cassettes in. A wide selection is only valuable if the store is organized well so that people don't have to excavate for merchandise. There's so much stuff that there's records in boxes outside. I'd also like to state that the owner is not very friendly and didn't acknowledge me once. I work in customer service and this isn't the way to treat potential customers. Capital City Records is the place to go.

Best record store I’ve ever been to. This place for the crate diggers. People who have an extensive knowledge of music will really enjoy it here. I understand how it could be overwhelming for some it could be in this store, but this place has everything. All the deepest cuts are here. Not to mention the owner is an awesome guy. Lovely place.

Love, love, love this place. You could spend all day in the store and still not see half of the selection of old and new titles. From new and old LP's, compact discs, DVD's, and video games, if you are looking for it, chances are it is (or was) here. In addition to the impressive selection, the proprietor, Victor, has an encyclopedic knowledge of multiple genres of music and he is easy to engage in conversation about titles/artists you are searching for. Finally, this store is always well stocked for those special Record Store Day titles that you may be looking for to complete a collection. I am so glad that Baton Rouge has a record store that harkens back to the glory days of my youth. Additionally, I am always pleased to spend my dollars supporting locally owned businesses that offer a unique customer service experience that you seldom find in a big box store.

Got in early looking for a limited edition vinyl. Was greeted by the owner who asked what we were looking for and he knew exactly which one! Very friendly and sincere service. Thank you!

Spent a day bouncing around record stores in Baton Rouge and this one was my favorite. Both people working the shop were helpful and patient. He'll make you a deal if you buy things in bulk! Has a particularly impressive collection of box sets and old school video games. Definitely a place to support and re-visit.

Excellent place for those looking for vintage music, videos/box sets, video games and equipment. The owner was highly knowledgeable about all genres of music and helpful to those less "musically inclined." All in all, its a great place (and way more affordable with way more choices) than the gone, but not forgotten, Atomic Pop Shop. A good place to check out in mod-city.
