I absolutely love this place. My family and I had been here 4 yrs ago and could wait to go back. We were even planning a trip just to go eat there. And their beignets are so delicious!

The restaurant feels like maw maw's old house. The beignets are very good and they have them in smaller sizes. The gift shop has many things that are hard to find anywhere else. They do have stainless utensils and cast iron pots.

WOW. Don’t go to Cafe DuMont, go here!! Their beignets are way better! We are so happy we found this local place as the breakfast is amazing, and the atmosphere is so homey!

Good food. Decent service. But brought my service dog in with me and got asked all kinds of questions. Asked to show proof of identification for the service dog. Under ADA and Louisiana law a public accommodation may not ask you questions about your disability or demand to see certification, identification, or other proof of your animals training or status.

We stopped by this shop taking back roads on the way back from New Orleans. It was so adorable! I felt like I was straight up in Fried Green Tomatoes. I have been thinking about this place and wanting to return but had no idea the name or location and I'm so happy that I finally found it 🙂

We had an omlet, and breakfast plate and of course beignets! Everything was delicious, the restaurant was clean and charming and friendly staff!

Came here off the rec of a Louisianan, mostly cause they had beignets. I ordered four - two peach, one apple, and one raspberry (the filled beignets come in orders of two but you can request two different fillings). All were very good, though they took a little while to come out and I doubt the fillings were homemade. Pretty cheap, though - $3.75 for two filled. Service is nice but slow about cleaning tables, so expect to eat at a dirty one. Location is ideal for those getting on I-10 out of Gonzales. Would definitely nix the hotel continental to stop by here again. P.S. I’d definitely recommend getting more tart flavors for the filled beignets. They’re basically donuts with powdered sugar instead of glaze, and the sweetness of the bread is better complimented by tarter fillings like raspberry, cherry, and so on. Only reason why I didn’t grab their cherry filling is because they were out of it. The peach filling is surprisingly good for a non-tart option, though!

Super cool place. The burger was one of the best I ever had. Go and check it out if you passing by! It's a must! Was going to stop at a texas roadhouse but happy we didn't! 5/5 possible stars.
