Great food and awesome service. Emily and Sarah has great personalities and treated us with a great memory of our visit to the café. Never knew till today, the cafe’ was my dad’s favorite place to go after time at the casino. Now I know why.

They have the best omelettes you could ask for. But better get them before 11:00am, don't make them after that.

We were so excited to try this place after the reviews. I called 2x to place a to go order and no one answered. I drove there to place the order and stood there for several minutes. All of the waitresses saw me and no one acknowledged me in any way. Finally I asked the cashier in the gas station and she took the order for me. She told me to wait in the restaurant where literally no one acknowledged me at all. After 10 mins or so one of the waitresses asked if I had been helped and she finally helped me. Fried Pickles were great! Super fresh and crispy. Chicken fingers were so over cooked it was unbelievable. They were almost black. They had a grainy texture and tasted like burned oil. My meal was supposed to come with toast and it didn't. All in all VERY disappointed. The waitresses all stood around talking and laughing and didn't even acknowledge my presence. We can't believe they served the chicken strips with how badly they were burned. I totally wasted my money on a business that didn't seem to want my business at all. You're better off going to McDonald's.

Rather than eat at a casino restaurant in Lake Charles before heading home, we prefer to be on the road & drop in at Vinton at the Hard Country Cafe at exit 4 off of IH 10. The waitress makes us feel comfortable the moment we arrive when she recognizes us from past visits. She even remembers what we had ordered two months before. This morning, Toni was already delivering coffee and two waters to our table before we sat down. One feels relaxed and at ease eating breakfast among Rednecks, Truckers, Locals, and just ordinary people. The Hard Country Cafe is in an old building which it shares with a Convenience Store, Service Station, Gambling/Salon and Truck Stop. Rooms to let. Their Restroom Facilities accomodate truckers/travelers or anyone who needs to shower. Ordered their twos for Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties, & 2 pancakes. Their Sausage is the best. No long aftertaste. Our total bill was under $15.00.
