The food is usually really good, but I just ordered 2 chicken burritos and got beef instead, even when my order was read back they still got it wrong. When the food is right, it's GREAT, but it's been a couple of times now with a wrong order. It's not super expensive or anything, but some people can't drive back out for a replacement. I only give 3 stars on the service because it's twice been the same issue. I order chicken burritos instead of beef, and get beef. The place is very quaint and has a good atmosphere, and regardless of order issues beats nearby establishments.

By far the best Mexican food I've ever had let alone anywhere close to Bangor or Brewer! Not a bunch of fillers or junk like other wanna be chain Mexican restaurants. Both the taco stand and their other location in Bangor "Pepinos" are privately owned and use their own homemade ingredients and it shows. Not a bunch of slop and cover ups so you can't taster each and every ingredient like these other places. I recommend both places in Bangor and brewer to anyone and if you haven't tried them yet plz do cause you have no idea what your missing if you like Mexican food!!

Drove 80+ Miles to eat here and they did not disappoint. Prices were great!!!! I asked for the hottest wings. They were a 4 out of 10 on a heat scale. Our son and I thought they were mild the wife said medium. The lady at the register was friendly, patient and helpful. The wife ordered the Enchalada plate. We ordered the street meat tacos. The tacos were good but the street meat was very dry and and having been in Mexico and South America, street meat should be juicy. The presentation was great. The Enchalada plate was awesome. Pablano poppers very tasty oh yeah and the wings were tasty and even though not really hot, were finger licking good I would drive back up just to eat there.

Phoned in a pickup order, and the staffer on the other end did NOT want to deal with me, kept asking "is that all?" I was ordering for more than myself so no lady, please just take my order and stop making me feel awkward about ordering more than one item. I really wanted to just cancel the order but my friend said these folks don't get paid enough to care. So I cross my fingers that the cooks feel differently. Then we get there and the place is nearly empty... wait til I get home and find out why. NO RICE AND BEANS, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I am from Texas and I guess Maine did not get the Mexican memo - y'all need to serve rice and beans with meals. How am I meant to pay over $10 for a plate and not get these extremely normal and expected sides? Half the food was cold, especially the enchilada. I'm used to eating enchiladas last because of how piping hot they are, well at Pepino's they are served cold - EW. My friend did not end up eating the island tacos because gross. The avocado salsa is mislabeled, it's not a salsa. The chips were decent, the side salsas, which I am shocked that they didn't charge me extra for, were decent, but if the food is meh, then salsa can only cover up so much sadness. Salsa is meant to enhance the food, not act as the Wizard of Oz. Also, no amount of medical marijuana could make this food taste better, as I put in the good ole college try. After the meal, I am sad to report that I wasted money on this meal, as I could have found a cheaper, similar tasting option in the freezer section of Hannafords. I can only hope that y'all do some investment research and get the staff more customer service training. Best wishes and adios!

If you live in an area that has Mexican food then this may not be the place for you (CA, CO, AZ, NM, OK, TX, LA...y'all will laugh). If you are used to frozen burrito type food, with raisins??? Raisins...yup this is your place. Their salsa...no bueno! Where is the authentic Mexican places in Maine, even Tex-Mex here is not great. I am so glad I know how to cook authentic food at home (Taqueria #1Casa Katherine lol)...sometimes though just want to pick up a quick meal for the family.

100% gotta try the green sauce it's pretty tasty & they also sell it bottled to go. Never have I ever had a cheese burrito made w raisins onions and tomato but it totally works. Love this hole in the wall spot in Brewer.

The staff is cheerful and helpful. We both ordered the Chimmichangas. They were delicious. The guacamole was more flavorful than any I haven't made myself. The chili was great. You could actually taste individual items like tangy tomatoes, fresh, sweet onions and spicy? Just the right Mount of HOT. Best chili I've ever had in a restaurant. And the price was about average. The chimmis were just under $9, the chili just under $4. A great meal was had by all.

Really delicious. Fresh ingredients, made to order, takeout, curbside pickup, or eat in. Jumbo margaritas to go! Super safety conscious about masks and social distancing. Friendly helpful staff.

I grew up in Brewer Maine and started going here over 30 years ago! They were the first Mexican restaurant in Northern Maine!! All the food is made with the freshest ingredients even the tortilla chips are made hot & fresh! Their signature sauces are The Best and I live in Northern Virginia now & get them delivered to my house!! Love the nachos! The Bean Dip is Awesome! Their guacamole is delicious and so fresh! Tacos are great especially the fish tacos! Love the Burrito el grande! Chili is so thick and delicious! Save room for dessert at this Mexican restaurant because they have THE MARGARITA PIE THAT IS PHENOMENAL!! I dream about it!!
