Lovely spot! We ordered the caprese sandwich (can't go wrong with that), cauliflower fritters sandwich (one of the best sandwich i have had), sweet and spicy chickpea taco (could be better) and lobster roll (good)

We stopped by The Canteen after a beach day. We got the Lobster Mac and Cheese and the Fish & Chips! You order first, get an order number and get a table. They bring out the food to you. Our service was super quick. The food arrived hot and fresh! The lobster Mac n Cheese was absolutely delicious! Perfectly done. The fish and chips with fresh cod was one of the best I've had! It was not greasy at all, perfectly flaky and crispy. We could see the marina as we washed these down with beer. Love that there was sand under our feet as we dined. Would definitely recommend for a lovely Provincetown experience.

Picture yourself at the beach and feeling like you want to enjoy some seafood and a frothy beverage. You have found your place. The back connects to the beach with picnic tables. My fish and chips were crisp and hit the spot as did my super tasty frothy beverage. Fun visit. Super gay friendly.

Damn good for a bite to eat at any given time of the day. Great menu, varied, from seafood and fish to veggie. Lots of flavour, great seasoning, very fresh and all at very reasonable prices. Wonderful back garden / beach facing the sea; nice little front sitting area, great to people watch. Friendly staff doing their best to get things going even when it’s packed (they refunded my order after it got lost in the frenzy and took 40 mins to get to me - very thoughtful)

I really hate to write this review as we've been coming to the canteen for years and have recommended it to countless guests and friends but sadly after one too many mediocre meals I feel compelled to share my experience. The prices are astronomical for what you get. I completely understand costs of everything have gone up so I have no problem paying more but the portions are miniscule. We got their $28 lobster roll which comes with a pickle and cole slaw. Lob roll bun was not filled it was all mostly bread underneath, with zero flavor. None. No salt, texture or seasoning, just some mayo and a few pieces of chewy lobster meat. The rest was an empty bun. Slaw portion was the equivalent of about two fork fulls. Again no flavor, salt or seasoning just cabbage in a suggestion of a vinegary sauce. The vibe and ambiance are 10/10 and that's why we kept going back but it's just not worth it for for such disappointing food. I also want to add we're year rounders and ordered a pie for Thanksgiving which was inedible.

One of the best lobster roll i have ever had since i came USA. They have amazing seating on sand so you can feel like you are having food on beach. Also they have good amount of variety in seafood and for me this is the must try place in Provincetown, cape cod.

We ordered the fish and chips to share which ended up being the perfect portion size for a quick lunch. It was VERY fresh and the coating was perfect; light while still being packed with flavor. It's right on the beach so it will get crowded in-season but it was perfect for us on a cloudy day in October.

The front store is small but once you’ve ordered you can head to the back toward the beach where there are more seating. The server announces your name when is ready. Very quaint and charming place. The outside seating is the best part of the restaurant. The menu is limited mixed if fresh ready made plates and off the shelf refrigerated items. The fish & chips was one of the best I’ve had in Cape Cod. Many times the fried fish are overcooked leaving the flesh dry and hard. The cod was cooked just right, light and flaky. The dipping sauce was savoury and the method of frying the fries that used starch were very crispy even after it’s cooled down. The sweet potato crab cake was also very good although the crab strings were seen but barely tasted it. It was a bit lemony but the sweet sauce balanced it. The place did get crowded so the food did take a while to serve.

It’s like a market in the front where you order your food, then find a place to sit in the back where there is a full bar. The food was amazing- tried the hot lobster roll - comes with a slaw, and also tried the street corn salad side which was oh-so good! The flavors! And also had to get the fried clam strips that come with fries and slaw- so much food but so glad we went here- they did not disappoint!!
