While unfortunate, it is a relief to know that others have experienced the aloof attitude displayed by the owner of this establishment. As a delivery driver for one of Elie's vendors, I've had my fair share of his sniveling. Another reviewer felt their were treated like a "pauper"; truly an apt description of my business dealings here. Regarded not as the person bringing him the lifeblood of his business, but just a mule in his way. He won't even allow drivers to bring dollies or carts into the store, we're to carry these wooden crates one by one from the truck. Simply inconsiderate. He should have been a Dickens novel; maybe then his story would have a redemption arc.

Not a place for beginners, I went in for some new years Champagne and the owner was pretty arrogant. He treated me like a pauper for asking whats under $50. When I told him I wanted to find a new Cotes du Rhone as a weeknight wine he was again dismissive of sub $50 wines. I prefer going to Kakos or Old Woodward, they make wine more approcahable.

Definitely a different experience than what I’ve had in other wine stores. We were given a quick tour of the store, as well as specific recommendations for what we were having for dinner. The wines might be a little pricier than what we’re used to, but the knowledge we gained is priceless. I’m looking forward to going back!

This is the first time I’ve experienced this level of arrogance. This paranoid old man took a photo of my ID before leaving as he was accusing my party of stealing bottles on the way out to the car. Not only was I belittled while selecting in the store, to have this accusation is the cherry on top of having the worst experience to simply buy wine for the evening. I hope you think twice before giving this man your business.

From the beginning I was talked down to and talked over repeatedly and reminded that this is a true wine shop and everywhere else I get my wine isn't that great of a shop. Also told I couldn't afford much of the selection they offer without even really getting much information out of me. If you want a store of assumptions and arrogance this is the place for you if however you want service and conversation keep your money away and go elsewhere.

Exceptional variety of wines. The guy was very knowledgeable. My only criticism is that their prices are much more expensive than other local wine retailers. A typical French Bordeaux that sells for $200 at competitor retailer will be priced for $250. It is a great place to browse but if you're looking at buying, my advice is to go to red wagon, Birmingham wine, Rochester wine and Nino's. The typical wine I purchase to drink and collect range from $200-1500. I give this retailer a 3 star due to its' high prices. My advice is know your wine, brand and taste of diminishing returns.

The very best wine shop I have ever been to. Staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Their assortment of unique old world wines in nothing short of spectacular. Highly recommended, but don't take my word for it, go see for yourself.

The proprietor and staff are all incredibly knowledgeable about their wines. The wines are "hand picked" (although more literally so than just fancy marketing as I understand. The owner actually goes to Europe to meet with the wineries in a lot of cases). They helped me pick out a case of 2014 Bordeaux from a wide spectrum of styles and sub regions for aging too! My two pieces of advice are 1) Go immediately if you have any wine needs! 2) If you're suggested a wine from a region or producer (or both in some number of cases) get that one! I still intimately remember a white Burgundy from just outside of Chablis that was recommended.

I stopped by the store today and had a fantastic experience. Elie is incredibly knowledgeable and really takes you on a journey through french wine when you come into the shop. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
