My 16 year old dog unfortunately has reached the time for him to be put down. Everyone I interacted with at Long Lake Animal Hospital was very kind. Caring , compassionate and helped me make the best decision for my dog.

We rescued a beautiful German Shepherd from Kentucky. He had issues so we took him to a vet in Cadillac. After three months of treating him Cadillac couldn’t identify his ailment. We took him to see Dr. Lisa LaCross. She examined him, identified what the issue was and began treatment that very day. Love that vet!

The Doctors and staff at Long Lake Animal Hospital are the best. I so appreciate the mixture of compassion and expertise that has been my experience with them. I have a 15-year old Sheltie and they have been wonderful helping me walk the thin line between expectations, comfort and quality of life in an aging pet. I am so grateful for this wonderful team.

Can’t say enough great things about this vet’s office! We are consistently treated with kindness and they are almost always able to get our pup in within a few days. They have done a wonderful job with every service we’ve seen them for, and are accommodating to our needs. We’re so grateful we made the switch, and our pup is too! Highly recommend long lake animal hospital!

So I brought my dog here twice. The first time Was 3 years ago and I had a bad experience (basically was told everything I was doing wrong, from the shampoo brand I was using to the food I was giving her despite her being healthy). A close friend had encouraged I give them another chance as I had to make a difficult decision to put my dog down after an increase in the amount of seizures and an increase in aggression. (And that friend shared her positive experience and that she had been supported - honestly I didn't know where to turn either as this was my first time going through this process) Long story short, I was basically told again all the things I was doing wrong and to try other avenues (which obviously I have already reviewed before making the call) and again not supported in a difficult decision I had to make for our family.

I’ve used this business for 15 years now - ever since the docs performed emergency bloat surgery on my first standard poodle, Cassie, saving her life. (Most dogs do not survive bloat). I consider the entire staff my friends and trust them implicitly with my current two standard poodles, Annie Oakley & Lucille Ball. I recommend this place to all pet owners I meet. Their Covid system of care worked very well over this past year and a half too. These are some awesome people!

They have taken great care of our cats for the past 7+ years! We really appreciate the supplemental treatments that they offer, like chiropractic, for our elderly kitty. They’re always quick to get us on the schedule whenever something comes up. The doctors and staff truly care about the well-being of our cats.

I researched veterinarian's before moving to the area. I knew when I found LLAH, they were perfect for us. We take in difficult rescue dogs, and they require patience and a lot of understanding. The staff has been incredible for us, and I know our latest dog isn't easy, but they never make us feel like she's a pain. I deeply appreciate the care and professionalism we receive, they make us feel welcome and I know I can trust them.

This place has been fantastic! Our pit bull had TPLO surgery on her right rear leg and we had an initial consult with them and then did a 5 week visit that had our dog bouncing back really fast from her surgery. A typical drop off is pulling up and texting the number in the parking (they are Covid-friendly with curbside drop off) and someone comes out to pick up your animal. Pick up is usually around 2 or 3 depending. At the end of the five weeks they did give us two recommendations going forward four different treatment options to help continue to grow the strength of her leg. Overall this place was fantastic and we will be going there again when we have the dogs second surgery on her left leg.

Our boy Jax had the worst start as a puppy and spent almost a month a MSU after our 1st vet told us to put him down.. After his stay at MSU he required after care, so we returned to the first vet for that care the 1st vet had the attitude of writing him off for dead yet again, so we sought out another vet that would care. We found Long Lake Animal hospital and got just that! Dr Lisa is amazing and although we knew Jax was not going to live a full long life with his condition, he was in fact still alive and she treated him as such and not like a waste of her time. Jax lived a year and a half as a very happy and special boy. His condition caught up with him and he passed a few days ago but the staff at Long Lake never gave up on him and never treated him as if he was a lost cause. We are forever grateful for the care he received and the special attention he received from the girls that work up front :) Jax always loved to see them.
