I adore this little grocery. I've eaten enough cheeseburgers and fries for a lifetime. Since I discovered the food here I've stopped fast food. The deli offers an excellent selection of delicious food ready to go. The staff is helpful and friendly. I will continue to shop here for years to come.

Absolutely love this store. Smaller in size but has a great deli counter and excellent meat & seafood. And they carry some products that you may not find at grocery chains. They are always so very kind. They are truly a gem of a store.

Always the freshest produce and unique products. The only store in town that I can buy No Salt potato and tortilla chips. Until now I had to bake them myself. Thanks to all friendly staff too.

I often buy their many fantastic products but the dill dip I buy weekly does not have enough dill in it. It costs me extra because I have to buy additional dill to mix in. I sure with they would fix this problem so I can continue to buy it there. Otherwise I’ll have to go somewhere else. Thanks!

Every time I go to Penny Lake Market, I am treated well and the staff is super friendly. The meat/butcher department has quality meats and good prices. Their house made chicken salad is FANTASTIC!

I stop by when I am in the area dropping my grandson off. Good selection & deli, just need to ensure I check expiration dates, especially that of produce and fruits as I have unknowingly bought outdated products before. I haven't been compelled to comment, but last evening gave me a new perspective. I did need a few things and had to watch my grandson a little longer this evening but was able to make it there at 8:50pm, 10 minutes before closing. I walked in, everything is fine and as I am in the produce a clerk approaches me and walks by, I head to the dairy and meat and pick a few things (I was trying to rush). Then when I got to the drinks, clerk walks by me again - a guess a nod to make me shop quicker and that I need to get out and this is about 8:56 or so. Then the lights go off at 8:57pm. Great I can hardly see now and work towards the cashier (the owner) forgetting a few things I sorely needed. They start pulling the flaps over the produce, dairy, coolers and all await me at the front. The store is supposed to close at 9pm but they want me the hell out. I got out at 8:58pm according to my cellphone clock and date stamp of the receipt. As soon as I walked out, all the store lights shut down (8:59), but not as I heard the owner mutter something as I walked out (and it may not have been about this though I heard him say something like let's shut it down now. Never had a problem with this store before, exception to the previously mentioned outdated food, which I never returned anyways. I thought this to be rude and very unfriendly. Very likely will NOT return after many shopping visits to Penny Lake but what was the point of the owner/manager in doing this? If your store is advertised to be open until 9pm, stay open until 9pm! If you need to close earlier, then close earlier, but don't do this to your customers. There is a Freshway just down off Maple, east of Pontiac Trail, been there before and very clean and friendly, will give it a try. Not a lot of local grocers anymore and that area is void any markets close by.
