I was in the area and Shorewood Liquors was recommended to me by another local shop praising their bourbon selection. I did find a bottle I was looking for and was also told about their Jack Daniels Rye store pick so I grabbed that as well. So far so good, right? As I was being rung up I noticed a handful of relatively hard to get bottles behind the counter and before I could even finish asking about them I was lectured by the owner that they were not for sale. I could go into more detail but I won’t. The interaction was strange.

Visited the other day while working a job in the area. I heard they had a good selection of store pick whiskeys. A nice salesman recommended a store pick Jack Daniels Single Barrel select Rye. Awesome pick. My 2 star rating comes from an interaction as I was checking out. I noticed some of the harder-to-find bottles behind the counter. I noticed they had a bottle of Willett Bourbon that was recently released. They allowed me to look at some of the bottles close up. As I was about to ask about price for that bottle, a younger employee came out of nowhere and snatched the bottle away. Instead of talking to me, he informed the employee who was helping me that this specific bottle isn't for sale and shouldn't have been out on the floor because people are flipping that bottle online. I'm not sure if this employee recognized how rude this was- insinuating that I was flipping bottles- and taking the bottle, that was for sale on the sales floor, away to some back room. Not a great experience and doesn't inspire me to want to go back.The funny thing is, the employee who was helping me asked earlier what I'd be willing to spend on a bottle to help direct my purchase. I said, "depends on what you've got." I might have spent good money on that bottle, had I been given the chance- and Shorewood Liquor might have had my business in the future, too. Regardless, I purchased the JD Rye single barrel store pick. It was about $60. Probably the first and last bottle I'll be buying at this shop after that interaction. Good whiskey. Edit: Changed to 3 stars because they were playing Radiohead when I came in.

Left verbally assaulted and degraded after paying the DRUNK owner! My change included a 50 cent coin that I thanked him for because I don’t often see them anymore; He demanded it back (joking I thought). I asked why if he gave it to me (puzzled) “because IT’S MINE!” He shouted. I said “Possession is 9/10 of the law (still thinking that he was bantering). He wasn’t, he took the items I bought, said to get out of HIS STORE! Thru my items back at me and as I was leaving in shock ACCUSED ME of STEALING his 50cent coin 🤦🏽♂️ to his employees. Told me to NEVER COME BACK and then called me a DI€K! I looked up your reviews and this is not the first time you have treated patrons like this. I choose not to escalate it and call the Public Authorities because there was a little girl in the store. (Family I presume). You win! Brother I for sure will not buy from you again! However, I recommend you get that you show a better example to your employees. Don’t drink while at work!

Great staff - great knowledge. Cool selection of whiskey and bourbons - some one of a kind "bought the barrel" deals. Scored a bottle of Dom AND a bottle of Bookers! TRY to find a bottle of DOM in the Cities - and the Bookers was CHEAPER than the "big boys". Terrific selection of beers, especially for a smaller footprint store - great selection and great service - they'll actually TALK to you not just walk by and stock shelves...

Cashier, the only person in the store was very rude to my wife, most of you women out there would not want to be referred as grandma ( try something new grandma) we will never go to this liquor store again. She was very insulted. I gave it a 1 star if I could it would be a - mark. She has never been so insulted.

Whiskey is a solid 10-20% higher than most stores in the area. Guy working was pretty rude when I asked about a bottle hiding behind the counter. I get saving the good stuff for regular customers, but don't put it right out front and get snippy when someone asks to buy it.

This place is always amazing and with great prices and a very large selection. Remember to as for some Vanlice Lemonade it's a great mixer!
